文章大意:本文主要讲述了如何成为一个健康的孩子。文章给出了五条规则,例如:吃不同食物,多喝水和牛奶,听从身体的需要,限制坐在电视前的时间,每天要积极运动等。

1 . Do you know how to be a healthy kid? Here are some rules you should follow.

*Eat different food, especially fruit and vegetables. You may have your favorite food, but you’d better eat something different. If you eat different food, you will probably get more nutrients (营养物质) your body needs.

*Drink water and milk as often as possible. When you’re really thirsty, cold water is the No.1 choice. Milk is a great drink that can give you more calcium (钙) your body needs to grow strong bones.

*Listen to your body. How do you feel when you are full? When you are eating, notice how your body feels and when your stomach feels comfortably full. Eating too much will not make you feel comfortable and will make you fat.

*Limit screen time. Screen time is the time you watch TV, DVDs and videos, or computers. It is good to take more exercise such as basketball, bike riding and swimming. You can’t watch TV for more than two hours a day.

*Be active. One thing you’d like to do, as a kid, is to find out which activity you like best. Find ways to be active every day.

Work hours are different from one country to another. In France, people spend about 1,646 hours a year at work. In Japan, however, people work about 2,159 hours a year. That means a Japanese worker works 513 more hours a year than a French worker.

Why do people work so many hours? Some people work extra hours because they want to make more money. However, many companies don't pay overtime. Their workers don't get more pay for more work. Some people think it's their duty(责任)to work more hours. Some are afraid of losing their jobs if they don't work more hours.

Many people say that their vacations are too short. In France, people get five weeks of paid vacation a year. In Germany, they get four to six weeks, and in the United States, two weeks. One study shows fewer than half of workers used all their vacation days. In Great Britain, there is a saying, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull (迟钝的)boy." If that is true, there must be a lot of dull people in the world.

3 . On Oct. 25 this year, the Healthy China Action (2019-2030): Tobacco Control Promotion Campaign(控烟行动) came out in Beijing. It shows about 9.4 million junior high school students tried tobaccos(烟)before.

How did this happen? First of all, stopping smoking in public(公共) places is difficult. It’s easy for teenagers to buy tobaccos on streets. And it’s hard to find out who is smoking in a place full of people. And how to punish(惩处) them is a question. It will use much money to make people ask others not to smoke in public places. So, some units(部门) just have to let it go.

There’s another reason we should know. Although we can’t find tobacco ads(广告) on TV or newspapers, there are many other ways for teenagers to see tobaccos. Today we can see actors and actresses smoking in the movies and soap operas. Also, pictures of singers and actors smoking are everywhere on the Internet. As a result, 13% of the students in the schools of Beijing think smoking makes them look cooler. “Did you see Chow Yun Fat in the movie God of Gamblers(赌神)? Smoking makes him so manly and cool! If I can smoke, I’ll look fantastic, too.” said a 13-year-old boy student.

How can we make things better? First of all, stars shouldn’t smoke in their programs too often. And news about stars and singers smoking should also become less. The less teenagers see their favorite stars smoke, the less they want to smoke themselves. Schools and families must take actions, too. Teachers and parents mustn’t smoke in front of the students or kids. And we should let teenagers know the bad things about tobaccos. We can also have people share ideas about tobacco control in schools, so students can join the action.

C.actors and actresses may ask teenagers to smoke just like them
D.movies with people smoking may make teenagers like smoking

5 . What do you know about failure?(失败) In one way of thinking, failure is part of life. In another way, failure may be a way towards success. The Spider Story is often told. Robert Bruce, leader of the Scots in the 13th century, was hiding in a cave form the English. He watched a spider spinning a web (结网). The spider tried to reach across a rough place in the rock. He tried six times and six times, he failed. On the seventh time, he made it and went on to spine his web. Bruce is said to have taken heart and to have gone on to defeat (击败) the English. Edison, the inventor of the light bulb made hundreds of models that failed before he found the right way to make one. 6 . In your opinion, how should a man dress, behave and talk? There is no single Standard(标准). Many girls today love   xiaoxianrou, or "little fresh meat", which refers to young male stars who are delicate(精致的) and cute. Of course, there are also people who still appreciate the traditional male image of being muscular(肌肉发达的) and strong.

This topic caused some heated discussions across China in September.

It started when CCTV invited four young actors to perform on First Class for the New Semester(《开学第一课》), an educational TV show for primary and secondary school students that aired on Sept.1. The four actors all appeared feminine(女性化的), having slender frames(苗条身材)and wearing makeup.

Afterwards, criticism(批评) of their appearance(外表) was everywhere on the Internet. Some called the actors "sissies", a word that is used to refer to men who have a "soft" appearance. Some parents believe that popularizing this kind of soft male image is in poor taste and could have an influence on their children's personal development.

"As famous stars, the male idols(偶像) focused too much on their appearance and failed to act as proper role models, "Xinhua said. "If men behave this way, China will never become the strong country it hopes to be", Xinhua added.

However, others have a more open mind toward it. "It's a stereotype(刻板印象)to think all male stars should be as masculine as Jackie Chan. As society diversifies( 多样化), there are more options(选项) for fans to choose from, "Liang Yurou,19, a college student from Fujian Province, told China Daily.

Some people also pointed out that gender can be expressed in different ways. As a male, caring about one's appearance has nothing to do with one's degree of "manliness".

"No matter what kind of personal style or quality he or she chooses to present, whether it is strong-willed or gentle, that doesn't stop them from being an excellent person, "China Women's Daily said in a report.

This was echoed( 附和)by People's Daily. "A man's strength should be judged (评判)according to their inner qualities-not their physical appearance, "it said in an article.

7 . A punctual person is in the habit of doing a thing at the correct time and is never late for anything.
An unpunctual man never does what he has to do at the right time. He is always in a hurry and in the end loses both time and his good name. A lost thing may be found again, but lost time can never be got back. Time is more useful than material(物质) things. In fact, time is life itself. An unpunctual man is always wasting his most important things as well as others’. An unpunctual person is always saying unhapppily that he finds no time to answer letters or return calls. But the man who really has much to do is very careful of his time. He knows that he can not finish all his work unless he carefully does every piece of work.
