4 . Mobile phones(手机) have become a problem for middle schools. Some middle schools in Australia have stopped students from carrying mobile phones during school hours. The mobile phone use among children has become a problem for the school this year. Several children have got mobile phones as Christmas gifts, and more students will want them.

Mary, a teacher, said the mobile phone use is a distraction(分心) to students during school hours and it also gives teachers so much trouble in their classmates. Teachers also said that sometimes students might use phone message to copy during exams. She said some school tried to stop mobile phones. Some parents felt unhappy because they couldn’t get in touch with their children.

Many teachers said students should not have mobile phones at school, but if there was a good reason, they could leave their phones at the school office. They also said there were many reasons why the students should not have mobile phones at school, they were easy to lose and were a distraction for studies.

Many people say that they understand why parents would want their children to have phones, but they think schools should let the students know when they can use their mobile phones.

5 . We all know that recycling rubbish is very important. But sometimes it is not so convenient （方便的）when we can't find a recycling bin anywhere.

Now a team of middle school students from the US has solved that problem by designing their Recycling Bin app (应用程序).This app encourages people to recycle. It provides users with a map of local recycling centers. And it allows them to save places as favorites on it. This app also reminds (提醒) users to recycle.

The group of nine sixth-graders is from STEM Center Middle School. They came up with the idea as part of a school project for the Verizon Innovative App Competition. Their school provided after-class app training. It gave 10 teams Samsung tablets (平板) as prizes.

The competition wanted to develop students' interest in science. In this competition, students showed an app design that could solve a problem in their school or city. The nine students came up with the idea for Recycling Bin when they saw a need for more recycling.

We thought that this would really help a lot of people”, Jaden Hilkemann, 12, told Time For ids.

They kept their design easy so that anyone could use it. Now the free Recycling Bin app has been put into use in the Google Play store for Android phones or tablets.

I was so excited when it went up at the app store," Seralyn Blake, 12, said, “A lot of my family members downloaded our app. It was pretty cool."

6 . We know the mosquito very well. Mosquitoes fly everywhere. They can be found almost all over the world, and there are more than 2.500 kinds of them.

No one likes the mosquito. But the mosquito may decide that she loves you, She? Yes, she. It's true that male mosquito doesn't bite and only the female mosquito bites because she needs blood to lay eggs(产卵). She is always looking for things or people she wants to bite (咬) . If she likes what she finds, she bites. But if she doesn't like your blood, she will turn to someone else for more delicious blood. Next time a mosquito bites you, just remember you are chosen. You're different from the others!

If the mosquito likes you, she lands on your body without letting you know. She bites you so quickly and quietly that you may not feel anything different. After she bites, you will have an itch (痒) on your body because she puts something from her mouth together with your blood. By the time the itching begins, she has flown away.

And then what happens? Well, after her delicious dinner, the mosquito feels tired. She just wants to find a place to have a   good rest. There, on a leaf or a wall, she begins to lay eggs, hundreds of eggs.

7 . Fights in school sometimes happen, But how can you keep away from (远离) a fight? Here's something you can do.

Be calm (冷静). Sometimes, you feel so angry that you really want to teach somebody a lesson. But being angry can’t solve problem. Neither can a fight. Instead, it may bring you more problem . In the school, everyone involved(卷入) in a fight will be punished(惩罚), no matter who (无论) started it. There are no winners in a fight.

Shout loudly if you know someone is coming up behind you to attack, turn toward the person with your hands up in front of your body and loudly say “stop” before walking away. Loud voice can usually make the attacker calm down. If the person doesn't stop, cry for help by calling out (大声叫喊) the name of a teacher whose office is nearby.”

________Your friend may ask you to join in a fight. Learn to say no, Helping him fight is not really helpful to him. If you really want to give him a hand, try to ask him to give it up. Also, you can tell him if he gets involved in a fight, he may get hurt and be punished. Then, try to learn why he want to a fight and help him find a right way to deal with the problem.

How are you? It has been a month since my family left Hong Kong for England and we are fine.

England is very different from Hong Kong. The weather is terrible and it rains a lot. The buildings are funny. They are in rows and not high. I love them because the rooms are much larger. I'm having a wonderful time at my new school and my new home!

Mum and Dad are happy with their new jobs. But my brother Jack doesn't like moving to England because he misses his friends so much.

I've made lots of new friends at school. My teachers are really nice too and my English has improved a lot. After school, we can take part in relaxing activities such as sport, watching films or playing computer games. There's a park near the school where I often go with the other students at the weekend.

We are travelling back to Hong Kong for the summer holiday. I will visit you and bring you a present!
