2 . As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger.
Scientists have found out that radiation(辐射) is the greatest danger to spacemen in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of radiation from the sun and other stars, which is bad for their health. The damage done by radiation won't be discovered until their children or even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but no really helpful medicine has been.
Space junk is also thought a great danger to spacemen. It's reported that there are 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are man-made satellites(卫星), 10% are spaceships, and the rest are space junk. An explosion(爆炸) in 1996 made a cloud of 300,000 fragments, each at least 4mm in size, and even a small piece of these knocked against a spaceship window and did some damage. Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working on helpful ways to do with space junk.
Although space is really dangerous, it interests everyone on the earth. In the near future, it may become usual for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the earth and live in space for a few years. So we should care for space and do something to help improve the space environment.

3 . The World Tourism Organization says that space will soon become a popular place to go on holiday. One Japanese company is planning a space holiday centre. It will look like a bicycle wheel and have a very modern hotel for 100 people and a park. It will travel round the Earth at a height of 300km. The company hopes the centre will be ready in 2017. The company manager says he thinks that flying to the centre will probably be quicker than flying from Hong Kong to Singapore. After they arrive at the centre, tourists can take trips to the moon or go for walks in space. What about the cost?Well, the company believes that people will be happy to pay about $100,000 for a trip. But they think that as more people want to go, the trip will become much cheaper.
An American company is also thinking of building a very modern hotel, called the Lunar Hotel, on the moon. Most of the hotel will be under the ground, so it won't become too hot or too cold. The rooms will look just like they do on Earth. The guests will eat normal food for lunch. The cooks will just push a button(按钮)to mix dried food with water to become a meal! There will be little or no dirt(尘土)and there won't be much water. So the hotel won't wash the towels and sheets(床单)—they will be thrown away.

4 . Sydney Fredette has a lot of things to deal with. Not only is she a high school student, but she has also set up her own organization, Beary Merry Christmas. She volunteers(自愿) to serve poor kids and families in Orange Country in California, US.
To remember her best friend who died of cancer nearly 10 years ago, Fredette decided to serve those in Orange Country who are less lucky than she is.
She began with the simple idea of collecting donated(捐赠的) BuildABears, the popular toy animal that is made by children themselves in the stores' workshops. Fredette then gave them as gifts to the homeless children in California during the holiday season.
With donations at more than 100 bears a year, Fredette and volunteers host activities every year, where volunteers not only give out the bears, but also clothing, meals, and other things.
Not wanting to limit(限制) the giving to just the holiday months, Fredette now hosts other activities for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Halloween, providing the chance for her volunteer team to make a difference through the year.
“I love making relationships with the people I serve,” Fredette said.“The thanks they have, hearing their stories and seeing how happy they are, it's so cool.”
Future plans for Fredette include building a public food bank and providing a selfdevelopment class for students in her school who will soon attend college.
