1 . Each summer, you hear news that some sports players are sent to hospitals because it is too hot. Our bodies can't be outside in the sun for a long time. So in hot summers,be careful about playing sports outside.
Firstly,to play sports safely in hot weather, you must drink water. Sports drinks are great for athletes, but they have so much sugar that they'll dehydrate(使脱水)you more. However, drinking a few bottles of sports drinks will be good for you.
Secondly,be sure to take enough breaks to let your body rest. If your coach doesn't let you take enough breaks in the heat, don't wait until you feel uncomfortable. Just be honest with your coach when you need breaks.
Thirdly, when you have a break, don't sit in the sun. With the sun beating down on you, you'll only heat up and sweat(冒汗)more. Take a seat under a tree,or even better,go indoors for a little while. Cooling yourself down can help you stay active longer.
Fourthly, remember that the earlier in the day you start your exercise, the cooler it will be. If you can start practice before the sun comes up,you have a few good hours to practise in the cool hours of the morning. Also, the earlier you practise, the earlier you can finish the exercise. If you need more practice time, come back to the field later in the evening, when the sun is setting.
Last but not least, you should watch what you eat. Eat food which is high in water, starch(淀粉)and carbonhydrate(糖类),but be sure to get a good balance in your diet.
As long as you pay attention to the above, playing sports safely in the heat isn't a difficult thing.

7 . We always discuss about health, especially for kids. But what is health? “Health” means eating well, getting enough exercise, and having a healthy weight. Let’s read the following rules. They can help you stay healthy.
Eat ______ foods, especially fruit and vegetables. We all know that eating fruit and vegetables can help us stay healthy, but many of us only eat our favorite foods. Remember that we can only get the nutrition we need by eating different kinds of food, especially fruit and vegetables.
Drink water and milk most often. Everyone knows that water is important. Besides that, kids need plenty of calcium(钙)to grow strong bones, and milk has a lot of it. Every day, you should drink at least three cups of milk(1300 milligrams of calcium),when you are 9 years old or older. You should also try to have less sugary drinks, like soda and coca. Listen to your body. When you are eating, notice how you body feels. When your stomach feels comfortably full, stop eating. Eating too much makes you feel uncomfortable. If you do it too often, it can make you unhealthy and fat.
Limit screen time. What’s screen time? It’s the amount of time you spend watching TV, movies, and playing computer games. 9 . “You are what you eat,” says the old saying. So how can we know what food is healthy? Unluckily, a lot of food that looks good may have pollution. Where is the pollution from? It has something to do with how people produce food: growing it on the farm, processing (加工)it in factories, and making it ready for you to eat.
Here’s what happens:
Most farmers use chemicals(化学药品) to stop their crops from getting sick. Many of these chemicals remain in the food that you eat. Some people believe this may cause cancer. These chemicals may also pollute water and air, and kill animals and even people by accident.
Most drinks are just flavored water (加味水). Every drink coming in plastic bottles which you then throw away means a waste. Sugary drinks make you fat.
In the factories, much of what you eat and drink gets messed. Often things are put into food to make it delicious and look good but they might be harmful to people. And some food like meat often gets polluted by bacteria. What you can do:
Try to get organic (有机的)food. Organic food doesn’t have any ingredients (成分)that are bad for the land, air or water. Don’t eat processed food or drinks. Eat fresh food whenever you can and cook at home.

10 . Eat like a king in the morning, a prince at noon, and a farmer at night. This saying is all about the importance of breakfast. And now scientists can tell us just why it’s so important. According to a study carried out at Imperial College London, UK, skipping the first meal of the day not only means you eat more at lunch, but also that your brain wants to find more unhealthy foods.
The study suggests that there is a special part of our brain called the orbitofrontal cortex (眶额皮层), which plays an important part in making choices about what we eat. It is used for identifying the taste of food, especially when skipping breakfast. It is more likely to target high-calorie foods when you’re on an empty stomach.
Scientists did an experiment on this. Dr Tony Goldstone from Imperial College London, scanned (扫描) the brains of 21 men and women, around the age of 25. On the first day, these people skipped breakfast before the scans. On the second day, they had cereal (谷物), bread and jam as breakfast. After the scan on both days, they had their lunch.
When the volunteers had skipped breakfast, they ate around 20 percent more at lunch, compared with days when they had eaten breakfast. Their brain scans also showed the orbitofrontal cortex was especially responsive to high-calorie foods. “We believe that it identifies the value of foods – how pleasant, how delicious something is,” Goldstone told The Guardian.
1. From Paragraph 1, we learn that _____.

B.it’s easy to lose weight without breakfast

D.It is active toward high-calorie food.
3. Which is the correct order for the experiment on the first day?
① The volunteers skipped breakfast.
② The volunteers had lunch.
③ The volunteers had a brain scan.
A.①②③B.③②①C.①③②D.③①②
