Because of COVID-19, all the students had online classes this year. Teachers used smart devices to hold live-streaming (直播) classes.

Many teachers and students sat     1     front of their computers or smartphone cameras in casual (随便的) clothes.    2    Xinhua No. 1 Middle School made a new rule. It asked teachers to wear formal suits and students     3     wear uniforms while having online classes. People had different opinions about it. “In this way, the students feel that they are studying at school. And they     4     pay more attention (关注) to the lessons,” said Yao Hai, a teacher of the school.

But more people said “It’s not useful. Whether students study carefully or not is not decided by uniforms.     5     not easy for young kids or teenagers to study online for a long time.”

Everyone had his or her own thoughts. Anyway, the problem would be solved in the near future. The students and teachers could see each other in classrooms soon.

Here is a moving story I’ve ever heard. A little boy     1     his mother to go to his school’s first teacher-parent meeting. This would be the first time that his classmates and teacher met his mother and he felt sorry     2     her look.    3     she was a beautiful woman, there was a serious scar（疤痕） on her right face. The boy never wanted to talk about why or how she got the scar.

At the meeting, the     4     of his mother impressed（使······印象深刻）the people though she had the scar. But the little boy was still unhappy and hid himself from everyone. Just then, he     5     a talk between his mother and the teacher.

“How did you get the scar on your face, Madam?” The teacher asked     6    . The mother replied, “When my son was a baby, his room caught fire one day. Everybody was too scared to get into his room, but I     7     . When I was running up to his bed, a long piece of wood fell down and I put     8     over him. Finally, when I woke up I found I was in the hospital.” She touched her right face. “The scar was left on my face, but I have never regretted（后悔）what I did for my son. Hearing that, the little boy cried sadly and ran     10     his mother. He hugged his mother and felt great love from his mother. He held her hand tightly for the rest of the day.

8 . After a whole day’s work in my office, I walked home. On the busy street, I saw a young man selling some small toys sround the corner. Usually, I would hurry past such sellers and never buy anything, But when I noticed he was blind, I decided to stand there for some time. I wanted to see how he sold his toys.

Soon, a little girl came with her mother and wanted a toy. The toy was 18 yuan. The mother took out a 20-yuan note. She told the young man how much she was giving him and wanted the change（零钱） back. I was wondering what he was·going to do next. He told the mother to put the money in his bag and get the change herself. Then she did so.

What the young man did shocked me. He chose to trust people even if he couldn’t see. I was so touched that I made a decision to buy a toy although I didn’t need it at all. He said it cost 18 yuan and I told him that I had only one 20-yuan note. Again he told me to do the same thing as the mother. I put my 20 yuan in his bag, but I didn’t take any change.

As I walked down the street, I saw a little boy with his father and I gave him the toy I bought. I was happy to see the smile on his face.

The young man was a good example to us all. On my way home, I kept thinking the world would be a better place if we all could learn to trust other people more, just like the young blind street seller.
