文章大意:本文为一篇议论文。中国推动无现金支付,第三方支付快速发展,但是却又面临挑战,阿里巴巴的盒马店引起争议,无论现金或无现金支付,都应尊重消费者的支付习惯。

2 . “More and more consumers across the country are using cashless payment methods. The rapid development of thirdparty mobile payment tools is helping to encourage cashless payment across the country,” said Dong Ximiao, a researcher at Renmin University of China.

Although there were 3.4 billion thirdparty payment accounts in total in China in 2016, China is not the first country to seek a cashless society. Developed countries like Sweden, Denmark and Singapore are also seeing that increase.

However, the rapid development of the cashless payment does not mean there are no challenges or criticisms. Alibaba’s Hema store has come under the spotlight (成为焦点) recently. The media said that consumers couldn’t buy goods in cash there, which would be considered illegal.

Alipay and WeChat Pay, the nation’s two major thirdparty mobile payment tools, also launched campaigns this month to encourage more people to use cashless payment methods, which caused concern over whether cash will soon disappear.

“Some offline sellers refuse to accept cash, which influences the natural circulation (流通) of cash,” said Dong. He stressed that a cashless society would not mean that cash would completely disappear. “Also it’s important to remember that nearly half of China’s population live in the country, and they are unable to enjoy innovation (革新) brought by the Internet,” said Dong. “And when it comes to China’s senior citizens, most of them prefer to use cash in their daily lives,” he added.

“It’s ridiculous (荒谬的) to question digital payment tools’ contribution to financial development. In the long term, various payment methods will be used by consumers, and merchants should respect consumers’ payment habits,” Dong noted.

1. What does the underlined word “that” in Paragraph 2 probably refer to?
A.The economic activity.B.A large amount of payment.
C.The development of the economy.D.The cashless payment.
2. Why has Alibaba’s Hema store become a focus?
A.It fights against illegal activities.
B.Customers are not permitted to use cash there.
C.It provides comprehensive services.
D.It starts campaigns to encourage mobile payment.
3. What is Dong Ximiao’s attitude towards the payment in the future?
A.The cashless payment should be limited in the countryside.
B.The innovation from payment is ridiculous in fact.
C.Various payment methods should be supported.
D.The digital payment should replace cash completely.
4. What is the best title of the passage?
A.Innovation on the InternetB.Cash or cashless?
C.Payment online should replace cashD.Is the circulation of cash dying?

6 . For the first time, the World Health Organization has included Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in its globally influential medical compendium (汇编),according to an international science journal.

An article published by Nature said that TCM had been included in the latest version of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) released last year. Starting from the 1800s, the ICD has been revised and published in a series of editions, reflecting the advances in health and medical science over time. It serves as the foundation for the identification of global health trends, and the international standard for diseases and health conditions.

The latest ICD is based largely on the work of the International Classification of Traditional Medicine (ICTM) project’s experts from around the world, who had been working on traditional medicine research and practices for years.

China has been promoting the modernisation of TCM and pushing for TCM to gain acceptance worldwide. Tu Youyou, a Chinese expert focusing on the scientific study of drugs and medicines, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in2015 for her research in TCM. Her discovery has saved millions of lives in developing countries in South Asia, Africa and South America. TCM is sure to grow in popularity globally.

While the use of herbal medicines, acupuncture (针刺疗法) and other traditional medical practices has been on the rise, there’s still a shortage of global classification and terminology (术语) tools for traditional medicine now, according to officials of the WHO.

7 . Many people have fears while traveling abroad. But with so many good places to visit in this world, fears that hold you back are stopping you from wonderful experiences more than they are protecting you. Not being able to communicate can not only be worrying, but sometimes it can even be a bit scary. But don’t let a fear of failing to speak the foreign language inhibit you.

First, try to learn a few words ahead of time, like please, thank you, hello, goodbye. This will go a long way in showing the locals you’re trying. A phrasebook can help, but remember that you may not understand the reply you get.

Second, write down the hotel you chose, and any places of interest you’re planning on visiting. It helps to show a taxi driver or someone you’re asking directions from if you have it written down since it’s possible that you won’t pronounce it correctly.

Third, one of the few words I find to be common is “toilet”. In the US people often ask where to find the bathroom or restroom, but that’s not so easily understood for someone whose native language (母语) isn’t English. But even in the middle of Southeast Asia, people understand the word toilet.

Lastly, try drawing. Andy and I were in a taxi in Izmir, Turkey trying to get to the castle, but the driver didn’t know what we were saying. So Andy quickly drew a castle. The driver laughed and nodded, and then brought us to the castle.

1. What does the underlined word “inhibit” in the first paragraph mean?
A.Hurt.
B.Change.
C.Prevent.
D.Protect.
2. What’s the purpose of the author telling us his own story in Izmir, Turkey?
A.To tell us drawing is helpful.
B.To show drawing is easy.
C.To show they were wise.
D.To tell us how to draw.
3. What does the author try to do through the text?
A.Reduce our fear of learning a foreign language.
B.Teach us how to learn a foreign language abroad.
C.Show us how to ask for help in foreign countries.
D.Tell us how to communicate when we tour abroad.

8 . Good relationship are definitely good sources of happiness in life. We all want happy relationships but if we do not keep that relationship alive, it can also be one of the most distraught things in life. There may be no hard and fast rules in making good relationships, as each of us has different preferences and points of view as to what is a great relationship. The following are some major key players in making relationships work.

It is often said that building good relationship is all about communication. Good communication indeed governs a good relationship—knowing the right thing to say, when to say it, how to say it, and accepting some things that are better left unsaid. I personally think communication must be broadened because relationships involve more decisions to make. From study to work, from money to entertainment and even in things about yourself or about your friends that you do not know, communication is necessary in these aspects of the relationships.

Of course, being with someone is not saying that you totally agree with him or her all the time. You and your friends come from different family backgrounds, raised in different environment so there may be disagreement here and there. However, it is important in making relationship work to express disagreements without pushing the relationship to end. Again, good communication and learning to compromise(妥协) at times are necessary.

As relationships last longer, you may also discover things about you and your friends that you may not have known before. Therefore supporting each other on both your “hidden selves” can also make a good relationship.

Love is an important aspect of building relationships and for me, I always believe that love needs open communication, respect, support and understanding each other in making relationships work.

1. The underlined word “distraught” in Paragraph 1 probably means _________.
A.interestingB.surprisingC.funnyD.upset
2. To communicate well with people, you should know that _________.
A.supporting each other in anything helps build a good relationship
B.a white lie is necessary sometimes
C.compromises are necessary at any time
D.your friends need to have the same backgrounds with you
3. According to the text, which of the following are NOT important for a good relationship?
A.Communication.B.Support.
C.Hidden selves.D.Love.
4. What would be the best title for the text?
A.Forbidden Rules in Building Good Relationships.
B.Keys to Making Relationships Work.
C.Different Opinions on Good Relationships.
D.The Importance to Express Disagreements.
