Last Saturday witnessed an impressive marathon race what nearly drew the attention of every student and teacher in our school. The students selecting from every class took an part in the competition. The route, measures about five kilometers, were from our school gate to the Science Museum. All the runners tried our best to finish the task, their classmates along the way giving them necessarily help as well as encouragement. At last, every runner managed to reach the finish line, receiving cheers from all the direction. The activity was highly spoken, because not only did it provided a chance for us to exercise, but also made us more united.

The mascot(吉祥物) of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games official made its public appearance on Tuesday. It was a cartoon character inspired by giant pandas. The smiling panda is named with Bing DwenDwen in Chinese. Color circles around its face symbolize skating tracks and 5G technology. Bing, Chinese word for “ice”, shows purity and strength, but DwenDwen means sincerity, liveliness and health — also characteristics of pandas. Sometimes in February, my teacher told us about the city speech contest, its topic was “People who have overcome difficulties in their lives”. I thought of my grandma would be my perfect topic. Then I carefully prepared for contest. A couple of weeks later, after the first round I was choosing to be one of the seven finalists! The final was held soon. I was the sixth to present the speech. How a relief when I finished it! After the last person finished, the judge made their final decisions and announced that I have won first prize. The audience were going wildly clapping and cheering! I was extremely happy. It was such exciting a moment that I will always remember.

On Aug. 21, I was writing a composition titling “My Hero/Heroine”. I stuck at the beginning, trying to find out what would be my hero/heroine.
Attracted by the cheers from the living room, I opened the door only to find my parents were watching the volleyball matches of women’s final. Then I decided to take the break and joined in them. The score was quite closely between China and its opponent.

When talked about sport, I always feel very exciting because I like it so much. I love playing tennis，but it is my favorite sport. Nowadays fewer students take exercise due to various reason and some students fall ill every now and then because of they are not healthy or strong enough． However， we should take exercise regularly to improve our health．

Jack Green was the football coach at an American college. He was appointed to find good players, and they weren’t smart enough to be accepted.

I’ve been playing volleyball since three years before. It started when a teacher set up volleyball club in our school, hope that more students would join in the sport. The club was very popular that many students signed up for it. To be honestly, at that time I just followed them without thinking. We practiced together on every Saturday morning. However, some of the students soon began to get boring and dropped out of the club. So I found I was quite enjoying it and I carry on. After training for some time, I was selected for the school team. What excited and proud I was!
