I’d love to share with you my personally opinions on city life and life in small towns. I grow up in a small town and then moved to a big city at 18, so I have experienced the good and bad side of both. I never thought that I would enjoy live in a big city, but I was wrong. After ten years of living on one, I can’t imagine ever living in a small town again. Surely small towns and big cities all have some problems in terms of transport. In a small town, you have to own a car make life comfortable. Big cities generally have heavy traffic and expensive parking, but there you have a choice of taking public transport, which is cheap than driving. I can always enjoy a lot of films, concerts, and another wonderful shows. However, these things are not rare in small towns.
4 . Widely known as the world’s first national park, Yellowstone National Park was built on March 1, 1872. Covering 3,472 square miles, Yellowstone runs through Wyoming and into Montana and Idaho, bringing with it deep canyons, rivers, forests, hot springs, and so on. The wonder of the world attracts millions of visitors each year because of its fantastic facts.
The park has a lake named Yellowstone Lake, which is situated at 7,733 feet above sea level, making it the largest high-elevation lake in all of North America. The lake is about 20 miles long and 14 miles wide, with about 141 miles of shoreline. Each winter, Yellowstone Lake is completely covered with two-foot-thick ice.
Aside from its unique lake, there are also 290 waterfalls found throughout the park, including the famous Yellowstone River Upper and Lower Falls, which end up in an area known as the “Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River”. Visitors can view the falls from several different hiking trails (远足路径) and walkways.
With over 300 campsites and more than 900 miles of hiking trails inside the park—most of which are managed as wilderness areas—Yellowstone is the perfect destination for the most adventurous kind of outdoor enthusiast. It isn’t all difficult wilderness hiking, however, since the park also offers plenty of choices for shorter-day hikes on well-managed trails. There are even paved hikes that are wheelchair-accessible.
Also, you may see different kinds of animals along your hike in the park. Not only are there at least 67 species of mammals (哺乳动物) living in Yellowstone National Park, there are also approximately 300 species of bird and 16 species of fish. There’re at least two threatened species. The Canada lynx (猞猁) was listed as threatened in 2000, and parts of Yellowstone are still considered as the animal’s important natural home. They were found only 112 times in park history. What’s more, in 2018, the government restored (恢复) the protection to grey bears within Yellowstone.

In fact, literary landmarks are so common in London that “blue plaques(木牌)” have been introduced to show off well-known literary sites. One of the more interesting plaques can be found at 221B Baker Street-the apartment of famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes (although we can be pretty sure that he never actually stayed there).
Outside of London, it is possible to take organized tours around the countryside where England best writers grew up. If you join a Charles Dickens or Jane Austen tour, you’ll have the unique opportunity to visit the locations of famous fictional scenes. But to truly experience literature in person, you can visit Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and watch nightly performances of his plays.
Shanghai, China
Shanghai is a really charming city, where — underneath the surface of the city — one can find some real literary treasures. One star of Shanghai literature is LU Xun, a Writer often celebrated as the father of modern Chinese literature, who spent his last nine years in the city. It’s necessary, then, for all Shanghai literary travelers to visit Lu Xun Park, which features a memorial hall dedicated to the great writer.
Another place worth visiting is the old neighborhood of poet Xu Zhimo. Xu is well known for bringing “New Wave” romanticist poetry into Chinese works. Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore once stayed at his home while visiting Shanghai.
Rome, Italy
The English romantic poet John Keats once traveled to Rome in the hope that the Mediterranean air would cure his tuberculosis(肺结核). It didn’t, and Keats died within three months.
Despite the fact that Keat’s visit was a quick one, Rome has a reminder of it — the Keats-Shelley House. Keats’ former home has been transformed into a small museum, complete with a working library.
What’s more, just across the street is the Antico Caffe Greco, a cafe frequented by famous authors like Charles Dickens, Loud Byron, Henry James, Hans Christian Andersen, Many Shelley...We could go on, but you probably get the idea that this is somewhere any literary traveler has to go.
