1 . Here are four small places in England, all packed with delightful scenery and more.

In the town, ancient buildings lean casually into one another. As a result, wandering down the high street feels like walking through a fairy tale or a Hollywood movie as Lavenham has appeared in many Hollywood movies. Behind the high walls are several excellent restaurants, but first time visitors should go to the Lavenham Guildhall, where you can drink tea in a well-preserved Tudor room.

Home to Gold I Hill, the cobblestone street known as “one of the most romantic sights in England”. Shaftesbury is a major charmer. The tiny Dorset town is also home to the ruins of Shaftesbury Abbey, built in 888 AD by King Alfred, a man well-known for creating England. Shaftesbury is also surrounded by a wealth of incredible countryside rich in picnicking potential including Duncliffe Wood and Melbury Beacon.

St Ives used to be little more than a traditional fishing village, but now it has developed into a popular coastal town. Its soft, sandy beaches regularly win awards and there are also plenty of top seafood dining options. The town has even gained a reputation as a serious arts center, with lots of outstanding galleries led by the Tate St Ives, which features attractive modern art exhibitions focusing on British artists.

Recognized as the “pretticst village in England”. Castle Combe is famous for its handsome honey colored stone houses and flower-lined lanes (小巷) which have decorated countless postcards and magazine covers over the years.

2 . Colorful Natural Wonders on Earth

The world can be kind of a boring place without the colorful natural wonders. So that’s what I’ve decided to treat you to!

Rising in the Sierra de Huelva mountains of southwestern Spain, this 62-mile river gets its stunning orange and red colors from copper, iron, and other heavy metals. The best way to enjoy the beauty is by visiting the small mining town of Nerva. Note that only about half the length of the river features these colors.

Known by Stoney Nakota First Nations folks as Ho-run-num-nay, this glacial lake located in Banff National Park gets its turquoise color from finely grained rock particles contained within the ice as it melts in the lake. If you’re a big fan of the movie Thelma & Louise, you’ll be happy to know that there also happens to be a Lake Thelma.

Provence, a geographical region of southeastern France is famous in the summers for its lush lavender fields. To see them with your own eyes, mosey on up to the Luberon and Verdon plateau regions north of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, or head east past Avignon. But the window is rather brief; they start to blossom around the beginning of June and then by mid-July they’re done-zo.

Huge rice stan? Anyway, Yunnan, China is calling your name. With a history going back more than 1,200 years, this series of rice-growing terraces — covering territory more than one million acres — are located in the western part of the country. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. It sure took them long enough!

Huguosi Street used to be one of Beijing’s     1     (busy) commercial avenues (大道) in the olden days. It was also the location of the former residence of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang (1894-1961) . Not far from Mei’s residence, the first theater for Peking Opera performances came up in 1954, five years after the     2     ( establish) of the People’s Republic of China. The neighborhood has changed over the decades, but the theater -Beijing People’s Theater,     3     Mei and many other Peking Opera     4     (master) used to perform, still stands tall.

On Oct. 9, the National Peking Opera Company announced that the renovation (翻新) of Beijing People’s Theater     5     (finish) . On Oct. 16, it will reopen to the public with     6     series of Peking Opera shows.     7     Oct. 16, 15 Peking Opera productions will be staged in the theater.     8     (involve) Peking Opera companies from around the country, the event will definitely breathe life into the conventional art.

Top Graduate Zhang Xie, so far the earliest     9     (know) complete Chinese play script written during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) , will     10     (final) be staged by the National Peking Opera Company on Oct. 16.

8 . My family and I recently went to Australia, to see my grandparents. But before we visited them, we went sightseeing along the Great Ocean Road, on the Australian coast.

Dad had planned to drive, but even though he was used to driving miles without getting exhausted, he then read on the website that the road wouldn’t be an easy drive. Anyway, we thought he deserved to enjoy the fantastic views too, which he couldn’t do as our driver. So instead, we booked discount bus tickets and off we went.

Our first stop was where wild kangaroo lived — and Dad and I were taking a walk when a big one appeared! For a moment, it seemed to consider coming towards us, which made me a little nervous — but then it went off along the road and into the bushes.

That wasn’t the only wildlife we saw. I thought it unlikely we’d see famous Koala bears during our short visit. In fact, at our next stop, we saw roughly six million in that area! Sadly, some gum trees they were in had very few leaves left, which people told us was because of the Koalas, although I’d read that lack of water is indeed the problem.

Dad had booked a campsite for the night, with ready-made tents — for an adventure! I wasn’t sure about that, but they were really luxury tents, within walking distance of some famous rocks and other places we hoped to visit. However, Dad also said the sounds of wild creatures would help us sleep. That sounded worrying — until the “wild creatures” turned out to be frogs! So I was embarrassed by my fears and kept awake by the frogs! But we had fun making meals together.

In fact, this whole trip was fantastic!

Franklin Institute Science Museum

Philadelphia, America

To design this new two-story gallery devoted to the future of space exploration, exhibit planners met with local students to find out what they wanted to learn. The result is an experience that will showcase the current and future technologies needed to live and work in space.

American Museum of Natural History

New York City, America

This multistory building will add tons of new exhibit space to the over-150-year-old museum. Visitors can explore one of the world’s largest displays of live leaf-cutting ants and come face to face with dozens of butterfly species. Meanwhile, the interconnectedness of life will be on display in the 360-degree “Invisible Worlds” exhibition.
