Jonny likes read in bed. It is bad for his eyes and now he is near-sighted. He doesn’t like everybody else to know about it, or he never wears glasses, which often brings him some trouble. One cold winter morning he is going to school. He got off the bus in a stop in a small town where the school was. The bus stop was just opposite school across the street.
When he was cross the street, he nearly got hit by a car because he didn’t see the traffic lights clear. When he got to the school gate, the wind begins to blow. Suddenly, it blew his hat off. He began to run after it so he couldn’t get it. He couldn’t understand why his hat ran down into a house as if it had leg. And he ran into the house, too. A woman stopped him and shouted angrily, “Why are you running after my hen for?”
Now he knew he really could wear a pair of glasses. It is very important to see things clearly.

When I was a child, I dreamed of go to one of the city’s five best high school. The admission was based only in a student’s performance in a single test. After spending several years struggled to keep up with my classmates, I was final able to meet my academic potential when I change my school. At my new school, teachers were attentive. Some of us offered to tutor after class. It was an opportunity, of that I took full advantage. I was started receiving top scores and performing at the top of my class. As result, I did well in the admission test.

We had a long winter holiday because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, our school did a survey on what to make the long holiday meaningful. 52 percent of the students take advantage of this period to develop new hobby. 31 percent of them spent most of the free time doing lessons and reading a lot. And the rest 17 percent of them regarded the holiday as good chance to spend more time with our families.
Staying at home, I paid closely attention to the epidemic situation by watching CCTV news or surfing the Internet. I made up a study plan and tried my best to improve my English. To my great delighted, I found I made great progress with my English. Beside, I took exercise every day to keep healthy. It was a long winter holiday, and it was also meaningful.

Environmental pollution does great harm to us. Tens of thousands of people die of disease caused by pollution. The area of desert in the world is growing and the weather is getting worst because the forest damage. The waste gas and liquid from factories have polluted air or rivers. Everyone is eager to get fresh air, pleasant weather and safe drunk water.
Luckily more and more people have realized what serious the problem is and they were trying their best to take measures to protect the environment. Therefore, we still need to encourage more and more people to join us in protecting their environment. Let’s keep in the mind that protecting the environment is saving ourselves!

The Chinese New Year festival, which is my most favourite time of year, lasted for 15 days. At midnight on New Year's Eve, every door and window in the house is opened to let the old year leaving. We eat dumplings and set off fireworks. Children were given little red envelopes with luckily money inside. In the last day we have the Lantern Festival, that we go out at night carrying paper lanterns. During the festival, they drop in at relatives' and friends' houses bringing gifts or red envelopes, and greeting one another with "Happy New Year". This is special way for us to express good wish to each other.

Last Tuesday, our class invited an old craftsman to teach us about how to make dough figurines.
When the craftsman came in the classroom, we gave him a warm welcome and two boys helped him for the tool box. First, he showed us the basic steps and skills of make dough figurines. We stood around him and watched attentive. Then we started to have try ourselves. The old man walked around or helped us patiently. Finally, we put the figurines we made on the table and take pictures with the old craftsman. Looking at the figurines, we were all very exciting.

Mistakes are unavoidable in life. But attitudes towards it may make a difference.
I still remember how my spoken English was improved. In a beginning, I always kept silent in our oral class to avoid make mistakes. Before long my teacher got to know about my situation. He encouraged me to speak out that I thought. Whenever I made mistakes and felt discouraging, my teacher and my classmates would help me figure out how I could have avoided them. I also joined in an English club to get more chances to speak. Practice made perfect. Now I can talk fluent in English.
Just as the saying goes, “Every bean has its black.” Don’t afraid of making mistakes. Learn from mistakes, or success is just waiting for us.

Hello, everyone! I would like to share with you my first travel abroad. Last summer vacation, I, together with several classmates, took part an exchange program with the American school. During our visit, I stayed in host families, that gave us an opportunity to learn about American society. The main part of our program was to experience of the school life. Comparing with Chinese students, American students are more open and active. Besides, they have less homeworks and fewer exams. So we also have a lot in common, like being crazy about NBA. When the visit was over, I make friends with some American students, who became very interested in Chinese culture. The American students also benefited many from the program.

As school students, we run into one difficult after another in the process of learning. Everyone have their own ways to deal with them. Here I would like to share with mine.
When I am faced with a problem, I usually chose to refer to relevant learning materials or web pages. In this way, I can not only work them out but also improve my ability to overcoming problems all by myself.
However, when it is something which goes beyond my competence, I normal turn to my classmates or teachers for help. Sometimes I also ask my parents for advice. As result, I have made steady progresses in my studies.

I’m 18 years old. As the final-year high school student, I was thinking about my future. Because I’m interesting in culture and history, I would like to study Anthropology (人类学) in university. My parents have greatly expectations of me. They think about that Computer Science is getting very important so they should study Computer Science. My parents believe I can make a lot money with a Computer Science degree and they say I can’t even find a job unless I stick to my interest. That they say may be true. Should I follow my parents’ advices or my own interest?
