John Snow was a well-known doctor in London. Cholera was the most deadly diseases of its day. Neither its cause nor its cure were understood. So many thousands of terrified people died every time when there was an outbreak.
At that time, there were theories explained how cholera killed people. John Snow suspected the second one. As the disease spreaded quickly through the poor neighborhoods, he began to gather the information. He marked on a map the exact places all the dead people had lived. The map gave a valuable clue about the cause of the disease—the water from Broad Street pump seemed to be to blame. However, he found the water came from the polluted river.
With other two cases, John Snow announced for certainty that the polluted water carried the disease and suggested that the source of all water supplies was examined. Finally “King cholera” was defeated.

I am fond the summer holiday. Last summer, I go to Hawaii for my holiday. I often had a walk along the beach after the supper or had a swim in the afternoon. They sky was blue, and the air was fresher. Whenever you went, you could saw the green trees and the colorful flowers. The food in Hawaii was delicious and the people was friendly, too. The holiday was really wonder. I will never forget the days when I spent in Hawaii. I enjoy travel across the world. I hope I can meet different people and visit different place of interest some day in the future.
Are students' grades matter of personal privacy? Should test scores be made public?
Opinions vary from person to person. I think it’s good to recognize for the top scorers — they will be inspired and keep try to maintain their high grades. There are some disadvantages, therefore, for the low performers. But competition is a life skill that need to be learned to be successful in the really world. The earlier, the best. Regardless of the type of competition, it will keep them motivating. It is not just about winning or losing, but it is also about when they get involved, enjoy the process and improve them.

It is known to us, we can benefit a lot from learning English well when having a good knowledge of English mean more opportunities in the future. Therefore, some of us don’t have much interest in English. One of the causes may be what these students have a poor foundation in English. They sometime find it hard to follow the teachers. In my view, fit into the class, we need to have a good command of English words and grammar. You can listen to an English songs or watch English movies to build up your vocabulary. I became interesting in playing football thanks to a small accident. One afternoon where I was in primary school, I was walking by the school playground. Suddenly football fell just in front of me but almost hit me. I stopped the ball and kicked it hardly back to the playground. To everyone’s surprising, the ball went into the net. All the football player on the playground cheered loudly, say that I had a talent for football. From now on, I started to play my football with classmates after school. I am a good player now.
My mom is really concerning with the health of everyone in our families. In order to make surely all of us are in good health, and she makes specific plans for us. For example, every morning, my dad has to have the bowl of egg soup while I had to eat an apple. My dad don’t like the soup and I don’t enjoy apples. I tell my mom that if we’re forced eat things, we may become ill.
But he insists on us eating healthy food. Understanding her good intentions, I eat all the food what is provided by Mom with appreciation.

Today I tried cooking a simply dish myself. I like eating frying tomatoes with eggs, and I thought it must to be easy to cook. My mom told me how to preparing it. First I cut the tomatoes into pieces but put them aside. Next I broke the eggs into a bowl and beat them quickly with chopstick. After that I poured oil into a pan and turned off the stove, I waited patiently unless the oil was hot. Then I put the tomatoes and the beaten eggs into pan together. “Not that way,” my mom tried to stop us but failed. She was right. It didn’t turn out as I had wished.
Dad’s birthday usually falls in June, near Father’s Day. Last year, they were even on the same day. I thought this was unfair for my dad to only have one special day in June. My friends’ dads had Father’s Day parties in June or birthday parties in difference months. I thought of a way to fixing this problem. I would surprise Dad on autumn with Dad’s Day. I talk to my mom about cooking a breakfast for Dad. She showed to me how to cook eggs and make bread. I made special card for Dad. I was careful to keep my plan secretly. One day in October, I woke up early, cooked Dad’s breakfast and took it to his room with my card. She loved the surprise very much.
