My father always sets example to me. Last Sunday, I see him put some food into a bag and go out with it. To my surprise, I noticed he give the food to some street children. One of my neighbor told me that my father was very kind to these children, but they even regarded him as their own father. Though we returned home, I talked to my father about it. My grandma’s birthday was around the corner but I wanted to make a special present for her. While I was thinking what to do, sweet memory of the time I spent with my grandma drawing and playing the piano all flood back. It struck us that I could make her an album. I turned the computer, selected several photos carefully, and did the graphic design. Eventual, an album containing past sweetness was born. At the birthday party, I presented an album to my grandma. She hugged me tightly, tears roll from her eyes. Seeing my grandma so satisfying, my parents smiled happily. I think that with genuine love, even if a small gift can mean a lot to our loved ones.
My grandmother had been suffering from Alzheimer’s so she lived alone for a long time. She’d moved out with our family when we realized it wasn’t safely for her to live alone. Even if she forgot the names of her grandchildren which she saw daily for almost three years ago, she never forgot about his friend Margaret. She was always eager to share these memory with anyone who would listen. When she seemed a little down, I would encourage her, “Telling me about your best friend Margaret.” She would smile. “We used to get into all sorts difficulties. Did I ever tell you about our double date?” “Why didn’t you tell me now?”

I travelled to Baiyun Mountain last summer. I went hiking with a couple friends. It was a good trip at the beginning and something unexpected happen on the way. While we were climbing a long flight of stair, one of my friends suddenly felt a terribly pain in his stomach. Luckily we brought a tent with us. We had put up the tent, that he had a good rest. He took some medicine with some water and lying down for a rest. After the while, he felt better and we walked on. We all enjoyed us at the top of the mountain.

There is a tradition in my family. On New Year's Eve, all my relative will come to our house for the feast. As matter of fact, it isn't the food that bring us together but the sense of belonging does. Making dumplings was always of great fun. We put a coin into one of the dumplings. Everybody expects to eat the one with the coin inside, because it is said that whomever gets the coin will have good fortune in the followed year. When my mom serves the dumplings, we help us immediately, hoping to get the good luck of our entirely year. The coin never comes to me and I am pretty sure of that the luck is always there.

Two year ago, my best friend Lily moved another town because her parents had found their new jobs there. The day she left, we couldn’t help cry loudly. Out of all the people I have met, my father is the most influential in my life. He has made an impact in me through both his word and his actions.
When I was very young, my father took an interest in which I did. In addition, he taught me to work hard. Once I took part in music competition, but I had to practice playing the piano for weeks and weeks. I became discouraging, but my father sits with me each evening and helped me learn my songs well. What’s more, my father has been influenced me by his example, work hard to do his best in everything.
I am thankful and I hope I can make him proud of his life.
