You’ll begin the all-important practice of listening, before you even sit down to talk to each other.

Give it time and try again. The expert noted that friendships may require time to settle back into normal after the conflicts. People differ in how they deal with conflicts.     4    . That lasting uncomfortable feelings may require further attention.

Suggest another meeting. If you won’t see them in another setting, ask if you can have another opportunity to let them get to see the real you.     4    . For example, don’t continue pursuing (追求) someone after they have told you they are not interested.

Show who you really are. If you do get another opportunity to overcome a poor initial impression, make sure you show the qualities and strengths that you have and keep it in your future interactions.     5    .

4 . Meaningful relationships make life more enjoyable.     1     In order to attract an ideal mate, you’ll need to spend some time preparing yourself to make sure you’re ready to be in a relationship with a new person.

Define what an ideal relationship means to you. As you set out to create your ideal relationship, make sure you consider what you want from it. If you are looking for stability and security, search for a partner with those qualities.     2

Let go of the past.     3     In order to move forward in your life, you need to say goodbye to anything you may be struggling with from your past. Creating an ideal relationship requires commitment to the possibilities of the future, not bitterness about the past.

5 . 阅读下面材料, 根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段, 使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Although I am a girl, I can say I am a true fan of soccer games, for it is definitely one of the best ways to get away from my tiring work temporarily and have fun. Therefore, the moment I got the news that there would be a game between our home team against the Team from London City, immediately I booked a seat at the front row, wishing to have a fantastic weekend.

I had a great mood when I got seated in the stadium. However, as the game began, I spotted that in front of me sat a guy, who looked quite nice. But maybe his idea of having fun was nothing like mine, or most normal well-behaved fans, such as standing and yelling, non-stop, as loud as he could. He yelled at the coaches, at the players, at the London City’s fans, and even at the officials present, always at the top of his lungs.

He kept his action for the entire 45 minutes and never showed any sign of tiredness. Obviously he was so absorbed in the game that he failed to notice he was ruining the experience of hundreds of others.

With him yelling by me, my ear drums almost got broken, for his mouth was so close to my ears. For a while, I even thought of shouting back at him and stopping his yelling. People around were turning to look at him, and I could read their thoughts, “Is he never going to stop?” But He seemed blind to those looks.

At half-time, I escaped by walking for a few minutes outside the stadium. I was thinking of seeking an empty seat in the student section across the stadium, but to my disappointment, the seats were all taken. I had no choice but to go back to the guy.

To make matters worse, when returning to my seat, I missed my steps and fell heavily on the stairs. As I was struggling to stand up, a pair of huge hands helped me from behind.

6 . How to get along with others well

There are a lot of different people in the world, but despite our differences we all want to get along. Getting along with someone isn’t about being their best friend or sharing all their hobbies.     1

Be a good listener. To start a conversation, it is important to listen first, especially when you are in a group. First, examine the situation and the conversation, then say whatever you think fit.

2     It is not your job to change anyone else. It is not in your power to change anyone else. Let other people live how they want to live. You can only change how you interact with people. You can always maintain a good attitude around them so that your relationship with them might change.

Keep your sense of humor. A little laughter goes a long way, and a smile is a good medicine. If someone is sad, smile at them.

Be sincere. While each one of these tips is important, none stands alone.     3     People will sense when you are pretending to be positive. All of these tips without sincerity will end up destroying any positive effect you were hoping to produce. Following the tips above, you will find yourself getting along with people wherever you go!

A.They all operate altogether, but nothing is more important than sincerity.
B.Being kind is its own reward.
C.It is about treating people with respect and care.
D.Don’t try to change people.

7 . Sometimes boys and girls find it really hard to properly deal with the relationship with people of the opposite sex.     1

Keep a normal and healthy state of mind. Our schools and classes are made up of boys and girls.    2     We should make as many friends as possible. We should keep in contact with the other sex in public instead of in secret.

3     If you are a shy person, you can also find a way out.    4     As both of you have much in common, you may have much to talk about. If you keep doing like that, little by little, you will gladly find you are also as free to express yourself as others.

Don’t fall into early love. The boys and girls at a adolescence (青春期) are rich in feeling. They are easy to regard the friendship as a sign of love and fall in love with each other at an early age. In my opinion, early love is a green apple that can’t be eaten. An apple won’t taste sweet until it is full ripe.    5     Do keep out of early love.

A.First of all, you can make friends with the students who have the same interest and hobby as you.
B.Of course, there are also some special schools and classes that include only boys or girls.
C.If you have problems of this kind, here are some “dos and don’ts” for you to follow.
D.It is very natural for the boys and girls to make friends with each other.
E.As a result, early love should be forbidden by all the teachers and parents.
F.Don’t be too nervous or too shy.
G.Boys and girls at middle school are too young to carry the heavy duty of love.

Recently I graduated from high school, and as a gift I received a huge hunch of flowers, 40 to be exact! I had so many that I didn't know what to do with them. The next weekend my niece and nephew, Sue and Mike, aged 6 and 7, came and suddenly I had an idea. I might let them give out these flowers to people they met on the street, and in this way they could learn how to be friendly to others. So I told them about my plan and explained that these flowers would make people feel happy and smile. They loved the idea and were eager to have a try. So at once we took every single flower and tied a smile card to it. We then went to the street with the flowers.

The first flower went to a policeman. As soon as she saw the policeman, my niece ran up to him and handed him a flower. His smile was so big, but hers was even bigger!

In no time, we neared the end of our flowers. It was lunch time and we went to Subway for lunch. There the kids gave a flower to the waitress, who was really excited to receive the flower. As we were eating our lunch, the waitress came up to the kids with two big chocolate cookies! She said the chocolate cookies were for them and that she really liked the flower! As they ate the cookies, my niece and nephew looked at me with the biggest smiles I had ever seen.

No one in the carriage had previous spoken to or even noticed the ticket-owner before. Yet, they had so quickly offered the strangers their help. If we could all show concern to others on need, the world would be a better place to live in.

10 . “People are ruder today because they are rushed and more ‘time poor’ than ever before,” says Patsy Rowe, “ Manners have fallen off the radar(雷达).” Due to our strong attraction to electronic equipment it is a wonder that more people don’t wake up each morning and greet the singing birds with complaining about the noise. Here are some examples of rudeness.

Some people prefer to do almost everything over the Internet. To them, dealing with an actual human is like an evolutionary step backward. It feels very slow because humans dont work at 4G speeds. When you have dinner with friends, you will often notice someone paying more attention to his mobile phone. We have programmed ourselves to think that every new message brings life-changing news, so taking calls and checking our texts are more important than talking to the people we are with. What is worse, some people even tend to send anonymous(匿名的)rude messages by email.

However, rudeness is never acceptable. Dont assume it is OK to be rude if the person youre in touch with wont recognize you. If you have something awful to say, have the courage to face the person and say it, write a letter or email and sign it, or forget it. Upsetting people with unsigned messages is cruel and disgusting.

We shouldnt blame technology for our shortcomings. Technology is here to help us, but we should not allow it to take over our lives. An important step is acknowledging our shortcomings. People spend a lot of time pointing out bad manners but it would be even more helpful if we’d publicly acknowledge good manners when we see them.

1. What can be inferred from the underlined sentence in Paragraph 1?
A.People care little about their behavior.
B.People can tell good from bad behavior.
C.Radar is able to observe human behavior.
D.Radar can be used to predict human behavior.
2. Some people are less willing to deal with humans because__________.
A.they are growing too independent
B.they have to handle many important messages
C.they are becoming less patient
D.they have to follow an evolutionary step backward.
3. The author thinks sending unsigned awful messages is ___________.
A.disgustingB.acceptable
C.RidiculousD.reasonable
4. What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A.We should applaud good behavior.
B.We should keep pointing out mistakes.
C.Technology will take over lives one day.
D.Technology can never be blamed
