When I was in high school, there was a time when everyone in class cast down and need a bit of a cheer. On an afternoon, our English teacher, Mr. Liu walked into our classrooms, he noticed our feelings. He drew a picture on the whiteboard, what showed a half-full glass of water. He then said, “Class, the point of view from which you look at things will affect your feelings. Like this glass of water, some people see it and think ‘Only half a glass of water. How unfortunately I am.’ However, other people think ‘I’m so thirst. Half a glass of water for you! It is all in the way we think.” Later, all of us kept up spirits, and at last our efforts was paid off.
Mr. Liu’s optimistic way of thinking always make me feel glad and hopeful. I’m so grateful that I’ve met so a good teacher in my life.

In my memory, my grandfather was kind and not good at expressing himself. I never knew that he really thought. He never judged book by its cover and treated people around him equal. When I was in primary school, I sent with him a letter, telling him how much I loved him. He never mentioned that he had received the letter and I never asked. We were considering making an incredibly English magazine, and without hands-on experience we didn’t know how to start it. To get professional instructions, we left for Beijing to visiting a chief editor of Beijing Review, the famous English journal. Although he was busy, he showed me around, explaining us the amazing history of the journal and its production process. Besides, he offered us lots of practical and valuable informations. What make us especially happy was that when he promised to give us continuous guidance. Filling with confidence, we are now beginning to handle our magazine.

It has been deep spring now, but the weather is still comfortably. Three of my friend and I went to East Lake the last Sunday. We meet each other at 8:00 am but then we went there by bike. It took us forty minutes get there. We went boating first after we got there. It was really interesting. And then we had a picnic. We prepared some meat, vegetables, corns and another food. We went home at about 4:00 pm and all of them had a great day. I like picnicking outdoors because it makes me feel relaxing. We decide what we will go there again in summer. At that time, we can swim in the lake.

As is known to all, the Great Wall is one of the best-known tourist attraction around the globe. Almost everybody wants to pay a visit, but I am no exception. This summer vacation, the day I looked forward to coming at last. I got up and set off on the early morning, my brother Tim keeping me a company. After two hour's bus ride, we arrived at which looked like a large market. Seen millions of people talking, pushing and photographing, I immediate lost my enthusiasm. Indeed, the Great Wall is really something must be experienced with a little care.
