1 . An 11-year-old Oklahoma boy is being called a hero after his quick thinking saved two lives in a single day.
The first incident occurred during the school day. Johnson jumped into action after one of his classmates at the 6th Grade Academy accidentally swallowed a water bottle cap after attempting to open it with his mouth. Johnson “immediately sprinted over” to the choking child and performed the Heimlich maneuver (海姆里克腹部冲击法). From the account of the witnesses, when he did it, the bottle cap popped out.
Johnson said he learned how to do the Heimlich maneuver on YouTube, and advised others to do the same. “Just in case you’re in the situation I was in, you can know what to do,” he said.
But Johnson’s heroism didn’t end there.
After school, Johnson spotted a woman with a walker attempting to escape a burning home. The boy said the fire began at the back of the building, but it eventually got to the front of the house. That’s when Johnson jumped into action. The sixth-grader quickly realized the woman was “not moving fast enough” and rushed across the street to help her to her truck. “It was a disabled lady and she was walking out of her house,” Johnson said of the incident. “She was on her porch. But I thought, being a good citizen, I would cross and help her get into her truck and leave.”
LaToya Johnson, the boy’s mother, said that her son’s actions weren’t entirely surprising. In addition to the boy’s dream of becoming an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), LaToya said her brother. Wendell Johnson, is an EMT.
“I’m just a proud mom,” she said.

2 . A retired United States soldier named Terry McGlade, who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, says his dog Major is a hero. He is specially trained to sense when McGlade is about to have a seizure (突然发作), get his phone and dial 911 for help.
When Major had recently sensed an incident about to happen, and McGlade collapsed and hit the floor, Major was able to get to McGlade’s phone, and more or less bite on the phone which is specially set up so that when multiple buttons are pressed and held in, it goes into emergency call mode (模式), and dials 911.
“He was actually able to get my phone out of my pocket,” McGlade said.
The 911 operators who got the call from Major said they never heard him bark or anything. However, they could hear what sounded like a confused man in the background, and did get quite doubtful after quite a few calls from McGlade’s cell phone kept coming in. Quite clearly, Major was using his leg and also stepping on the screen to get the phone to dial for help.
After Major was sure someone would be on their way to help, he then made his way out to the front of the house to wait. When the police and ambulance arrived, he led them into the house and right to McGlade, still in danger.
“I probably would have been in severe trouble if he hadn’t called,” McGlade said.
McGlade was taken to the hospital, where he was kept overnight for observation, but thanks to his best friend, and now hero of the day, Major. He is feeling much better, and will make a full recovery with little risk of lasting damage from this particular incident.

4 . During the 1930s, the Great War broke out. A 25-year-old American soldier probably never thought that his life would change forever when he volunteered to go to France.
One night while the American unit was returning to the base after a bloody fight, Suleyman stumbled (绊倒) into the ground and noticed a bit of movement from the bush. Being stuck between two choices either its enemy or an animal, Suleyman found a five-year-old girl from the bushes shivering (颤抖) with cold and utmost fear. Due to the atrocity of the war, the girl was abandoned by her family and the whole village was killed.
During the war, it was impossible to find the child’s family so Suleyman took this little French girl under his wings and gave her an American name Flora which means like the flower. Soon, Flora became the apple of the eye of everyone living in the army camp.
For one and a half years, Flora and Suleyman became inseparable; however, every fairy tale comes to an end. When the war ended, Suleyman was sent back to the USA, while Flora was put in an orphanage (孤儿院), the Normandy School, which was founded by the American government for orphaned French children to have an education.
For years, Suleyman always thought about Flora. When the French National Olympic Team was playing in the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984, Suleyman gazed through the audience on TV, hoping to catch a glimpse of Flora, but he never could.
At the age of 85, Suleyman attended the 60th anniversary reception of the Great War where Suleyman shared his story with American and French officials. After hearing his story, a French journalist started to investigate the story, and all government files were read in detail. The moment the journalist helped dial the number, in tears, Flora said Suleyman was her hero, and everything came flooding back to her.

Last weekend, after finish my homework, I wanted to relax me, so I went to the cinema to watch Journey to the West with my friends. We hoped to enjoy ourselves there. However, some of the people there makes me feel very unhappy.
When we arrived there, the movie been on for ten minutes. We found our seats quick and sat down. What’s worse, a few guys were talking loudly or even shouting when they saw some excited pictures. Also, some people threw away plastic bags, paper and other rubbishs on the floor, that made the floor very dirty.
As we know, the cinema is a public place where we can have a nice time. All of us are supposed to obey the rules in the public. Only in this way can we make public places more comfortable.

Last Sunday was our family cleaning days. When I was sorting out my closet, I found a lot of clothes which looked newly, but in fact I hadn’t worn them for a long time. I was about to throw them away while my mother stopped me, say that there was an old clothes recycling center in our community. I told that some of the recycled clothes would be donated by people in need after being sorted. I eventually realize it was a great opportunity to protect the environment and helping people. At the last, I found the recycling center and recommended them to my friends.
