There is an old man who have a shoe repair shop outside our community and his shop always opens till midnight. Many neighbor wonder why he works so late since there are a few customers at that time. One cold and snow night, I went home such late that the street lamps had already gone out. When I was approaching my community gate, I spotted the old man sitting on a chair. On his hand, there was a lamp. Heard someone coming, he lifted his lamp light the way. I final understood him. He doesn't do it for money, but offers help to these who need it.

On my way to the bookstore, I noticed a group of people surrounded two anxious foreigners. I stopped and found that they were tourist from Canada who careless left a very important wallet in a taxi. We told a moment ago a driver had just turned in a wallet and then a policeman drive us to the company without delay. The two Canadians happily claimed their wallet, that contained their passports, flight tickets, some cash or credit cards. They expressed our thanks to me. I feel it is really a great pleasure to help the others.

I often visited a small shop across the road, that sold great baked food. One of its workers were a young girl. One day she mentioned she had received a frustrated message the day before. She was obvious affected by it. There was nothing I could do, but I tried to offer a little kindness. I asked why she could eat the baked goods she sold or not. She said she couldn’t eat it unless they were broken. I asked about her favorite treat and pretend to be buying it for myself to try. Then I gave it right back to her. It took her a minute realize what I’d done. I left quickly, not wanted to make her feel awkward! I hoped it made her day a little of better.
