How to Eat a Well-Balanced Diet

Each person has their own unique health demands, there is no one-size-fits-all eating plan that will work for everyone. What does a nutritious, well-balanced diet need?     1    


Consume a lot of fruits and vegetables.

    2     Fiber, vitamin A, and vitamin C are just a few of the vitamins and minerals found in fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables also keep you fuller for longer, which helps you maintain a healthy weight. At every meal and snack, half your plate should be filled with vegetables and fruit.

Wholegrain bread and crackers, brown or wild rice, oatmeal, and barley are all examples of wholegrain foods. They are made with whole grain. Fiber, protein, and B vitamins in wholegrain foods help you stay healthy and fuller for longer.


Protein-rich foods should be consumed.

Nuts, seeds, tofu, fish, shellfish, eggs, low-fat milk, low-fat yogurts, and low-fat cheeses are all good sources of protein. Protein aids in the development and maintenance of bones, muscles, and skin.     4     At least two servings of fish per week should be consumed, while plant-based foods should be consumed more frequently.


Ensure that you consume enough water.

Water is good for your health and keeps you hydrated without adding calories to your diet. Sugary drinks, such as energy drinks, fruit drinks, 100% fruit juice, soft drinks, and flavored coffees, are high in sugar and low in nutritious value.     5    

Even if it's 100 percent fruit juice, stay away from it. Fruit juice should not be used as a substitute for fresh fruits. Everyone should consume their fruits rather than drink them.
