Freda Lewis was a popular young woman in town but she sometimes acted strangely. And she was always forgetting something.
One day her mother asked Freda to go to the bank to get some money. It was a really cold, windy, winter day, so Freda put a mask on to protect her face from the wind. When she got to the bank, Freda forgot that she was still wearing the mask and went inside.
Freda walked up to the window, and the teller (出纳员) got panicky because she saw a person wearing a mask. Without saying a word, the teller gave Freda $10, 000 in an envelope. Freda did not open the envelope before leaving the bank and had no idea she was carrying so much money.

Education is not just about going to school. it’s also about what you learn from your experiences outside of school. So family and community (社会) play a great role, too.
On January 13, the government gave a guideline (指导方针) to improve school-family-community cooperative (合作的) education mechanism (学校家庭社会协同育人机制). It clarifies the roles and responsibilities of school, family and community and how they work together to educate children.
“School-family-community cooperative education asks the three parts to well work together to help the all-round development of students,” Zhang Zhiyong, a teacher at Beijing Normal University, told China Education Daily.
According to the guideline, schools should play a leading role in cooperative education. They should deeply close communicate with parents to let them know about the student’s performance at school. They should also organize at least two activities each term to offer family education guidance to parents. Also, head teachers need to organize a home visit to each student at least once every year.
Parents also play a key role in family education. They should be encouraged to lead their kids to take part in different activities like volunteering, doing sports or getting job experience in their free time. The community, on the other hand, for example, should be free to school students.
Gao Wei, a 43-year-old mother of a 14-year-old from Beijing, was excited about the new guideline. “Improving cooperative education” between the school and parents is not a new thing. But the guideline brings clear advice to make it happen. With such support, they can learn more from real life.”

What will the future world be like? Many believe that technology will help solve some of the most difficult problems we have today, such as pollution and hunger. Others worry as old problems are solved, new ones may appear. No technology is all good.
When dreaming about the future, many of us hope we can go to different places in our own flying car. Everyone can clearly see the good part of the idea. This technology would allow us to move freely. We could fly really fast, getting away from traffic lights and busy roads. However, there will be air traffic problems. Another big problem is mechanical failure. What will happen if the cars break down or suddenly stop working in the sky? These are problems we must expect if flying cars become real.
3D printing is another new technology with exciting possibilities. 3D printers are used to build things with liquid (液体的) plastic. Car companies already use 3D printers to make life-size models of car parts, and medical companies use the technology to make man-made body parts, it might be possible to see something on a website and then print it out with a 3D printer at home. If so, 3D printing will change the way we shop and the way we make. The weak point is that such machine will be very expensive.
Finally, imagine having your own Iron Man suit. Several companies are trying to build a real robot exoskeleton (外骨骼). This is a special suit with robot arms and legs which follows the wearer’s movement. Exoskeletons allow you to lift heavy things, one bad thing at the moment is cost. Another problem is battery (电池) life. A heavy suit like this needs a lot of power, and battery life is short. However, these problems will no doubt be solved as lightweight plastic suits become available.
Looking ahead, although there are some problems to solve before all of this is possible, we can certainly dream of a world where technology makes life easier and safer for millions of people.
27. According to the passage, which of the following is true if flying cars become real?A.We don’t need to worry about traffic problems anymore. |

C.We will have traffic lights and busy roads in the air. |
D.It’ll be so expensive that few people can buy flying cars. |
A.It can build real car parts. | B.It can make man-made ears. |
C.It can print online websites. | D.It can make things we buy online. |
A.①/②③④/⑤ | B.①②/③④⑤ | C.①/②③/④/⑤ | D.①/②③④⑤ |
A.It’s difficult for us to imagine possible future life with new technology. |
B.There’s too much to worry about new problems appearing in the future. |
C.We can expect better lives with future technology although there’ll be problems. |
D.Technology can solve some difficult problems but may bring more serious ones. |
