读下面的文章,然后判断文章后面各小题,正确的答案写T,错误的答案写F。

The moon is the earth’s closest neighbor. It is the brightest object in the night sky. Scientists have studied the moon for thousands of years.

The moon is about 4.5 billion years old. It is made of rocks. It is covered with craters (火山口). They were made when objects hit the moon’s surface.

The moon has no weather. That means there is no wind or rain. Footprints (脚印) left by astronauts could last billions of years.

The moon has eight phases (月相). Once a month, we see a full moon. Sometimes we can’t see a full moon at all. The shape we see depends on how the earth, the sun, and the moon line up.

Only 12 people have walked on the moon. U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first one in 1969. He took a photo of Edwin Aldrin.

1. Scientists have studied the moon for 4.5 billion years.
2. Many objects hit the moon.
3. There is no wind or rain on the moon.
4. Edwin Aldrin took a photo of Neil Armstrong on the moon in 1969.

文章大意:本文主要讲述了人们未来在火星上的生活。

【推荐1】Many people believe that, by the year 2100, we will live on the planet Mars. Here is what life could be like.

First of all, transport should be much better. By 2100, spaceship can travel at half of the speed of light.     1

Secondly, humans need food, water and air to live. Scientists should be able to find plants that can grow on Mars. These plants will provide us with food and air.

2     We could easily jump too high and fly slowly away into space. To prevent this, humans on Mars have to wear special shoes to make themselves heavier.

Life on Mars will be better in many ways.       3     It is possible to live in a large building with many bedrooms. Then, robots will do most of the work, so we have more time for hobbies.

4     Every student can study, do their homework on the computer and take exams in online schools. Each student will also have their own online teacher called “E-teacher”.

However, in some ways, life on Mars may not be better than that on the earth today.     5     Meals will probably be in the shape of pills and will not be as delicious as they are today. Also, space travel will make many people feel ill.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了人类科学家对金星的研究和探测。

【推荐2】Venus (金星) is close to Earth.     1       Earth is the third planet from the Sun. Venus is similar to Earth in size and mass (质量). It is often described as Earth’s “sister”.

Scientists have been learning about Venus for a long time. First, they looked at Venus through telescopes (望远镜). But Venus is covered with thick clouds.     2     So, they made guesses about it.

For a long time, scientists thought that Venus had water and plants. They thought Venus might have animals, too.     3

4     In the 1960s, they began sending probes (航天探测器) to Venus. The probes flew through the thick clouds. They took pictures of Venus up close. They found out many things, too. The probes sent the pictures and things they found out back to the scientists.

5     First, they learned that most of their guesses were not right. And they learned that Venus is very hot.

A.Then scientists found a way to learn more about Venus.
B.It is the second planet from the Sun.
C.The scientists learned a lot from the probes.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了潮汐的原理以及日食和月食的形成原因。

【推荐3】Our nearest neighbour is the moon. In the sky, the moon and the sun seem to be of the same size because the moon is much nearer.

The moon makes the tides(潮汐)—the changes in the level of the sea. The moon and the sun together pull the sea. In some parts of the world, the difference between “high tide”(when the sea is very near to the land) and “low tide”(when the sea is far away from the land) is very big. This is very important for ships.

The moon is very different from the earth. Gravity on the moon is six times weaker than that on the earth. There isn’t any air. During the day, it is very, very hot but at night it is very, very cold. Nothing can live on the moon.

If the moon goes between the earth and the sun, we have an eclipse(日食) of the sun. The moon stops the light from the sun and we have night in the day.

If the earth goes between the moon and the sun, we have an eclipse of the moon(月食). The moon goes into the shadow(影子) of the earth and it disappears for a few minutes.

A.high tideB.low tideC.shadowD.gravity
