As I was there, I learned about the food and the history of the area. I learned that they don't waste food, either, and they use leftovers!
Many years ago, there was not enough food for everyone. People learned to cook and eat almost everything. They had to think of ways to make special dishes. One of these dishes is kao zha. It's made with leftovers like meat, soup, oil and fat. That might not sound very good, but it does taste good. Today, kao zha is a special dish at big banquets (宴会).
Another famous dish is called zao bing. It's made with fruit, meat and other things. I really liked it! But I didn't want to cat too much. It has a lot of fat in it.
I smelled something burning and I saw smoke, so I found another special food of the Italian area -duck meat. The duck meat is put in a big oven to cook it. Smoke keeps the meat fresh. I don't usually cat meat, but this duck meat was delicious! It tasted sweet.
Italia is a great place with delicious food. I hope I can come back again!

I'm writing about the new “no-phones” rule in the restaurant. While I understand that loud telephone conversations are annoying (恼人的), I don' t think quietly sending and receiving texts or checking an app is a problem, especially if phones are put on silent mode(模式). Also, I can see that using a phone while ordering food is not polite to the staff, but when someone is sitting alone at a table, texting doesn't bother(打扰) anyone.
Can I suggest that you change the “no-phones” rule to a set of “use technology politely” rules? For example:
● Think about people around you.
● Put your phone on silent mode.
● Don't use your phone when ordering food.
● Don't talk on your phone in the restaurant.
● No selfies(自拍)!
These rules could stop the impolite behaviors but would allow people who aren't bothering anyone to use their phones.
Thank you for considering my suggestions.
Yours sincerely,
Mika Thibeau

He shared his story with the old man. “Can you give me one good reason not to give up?” He asked the old man.
“Look,” the old man said, pointing to two plants. “Do you see that fern (蕨类植物) and bamboo there?”
“Yes,” the man answered.
“When I planted the fern and bamboo seeds (种子), I watered them carefully. There was no sign of growth. But I did not give up and continued looking after it. In the fifth year, a small sprout came out. And within six months, the tree grew a hundred feet tall.”
“The little bamboo tree had been growing underground in the past four years, developing a root strong enough for its ground growth in the fifth year. If it hadn’t done this, it would not be so strong as it is now. So you know, all the time you were trying, you were actually growing strong roots.” the old man said.
