Chocolate cakes, colorful candies and home-made cookies! They can easily make your mouth water a lot! But wait! Here's a suggestion you might ever hate but need: stop eating added sugar, which lurks* in nearly 70 percent of packaged foods, snacks, most breakfast foods and sauces.
Many scientists believe that added sugar is a main cause in the overweight epidemic*, but normal-weight people can suffer the same problems because of too much sugar. A 15-year study found that eating high amounts of added sugar doubles the risk of heart disease, even for people who aren't overweight.

The balalaika, also called the "Russian guitar", is a traditional Russian musical instrument. It has a long neck, a wooden triangle-shaped body and strings. It is usually used to play Russian music by plucking the strings with fingers or a pick.
Russians like the balalaika. The music played with it can be cheerful, as if the farmers were dancing happily to celebrate their harvest. Tide is the regular rise and fall of the ocean level caused by the movement of the sun, the earth and the moon. It is considered a promising source of green energy to produce electricity in coastal areas.
To make use of tidal energy, we need to build tidal power stations. Tidal energy has it advantages. Using tidal energy to produce electricity is much cheaper than using the traditional energy, like coal or gas. For example, the Rance Tidal Power Station in France has been there for over 50 years, producing around 540, 000TWh of electricity each year. The cost is only 1.3 cents/TWh. Tidal energy can be used nearly 24 hours a day. As long as the sun, the earth and the moon exist, we can use it to produce electricity. But without sunshine, here is no solar energy. When there is no wind, electric generators will not work. In addition, with the development of modern technology, tidal energy can be stored and used to produce electricity continuously. However, we still have some problems to solve. It is difficult to build a dam in the sea, and the cost is very high. Moreover, it's expensive to keep a tidal power station in its best condition.

Two Chinese designers, Cai Zeyu and Li Sibei, with their work Paris Heart Beat, have won the first prize in a design competition for rebuilding Notre Dame Cathedral in France. The competition was started by GoArchitect, an independent publisher of books in LA. It received 226 works from 56 countries in all, with over 30,000 people voting during the competition.
Cai and Li state, “We believe the 2019 fire will mark a new period for Notre Dame.” They came up with the idea of a glass roof for the Cathedral to match the changing city. In addition, the spire’s tip will be designed as “a time capsule to remember history and save space for future stories”.
Cai and Li both had been to Notre Dame and were impressed by “the grandness, beauty and the peaceful atmosphere”. They believed giving Notre Dame a modern look is the best way to show their great respect for its past and best wishes to its future, which made them take part in the competition.
The 850-year-old Notre-Dame Cathedral was destroyed by a terrible fire in April. After the terrible loss, French President Emmanuel Macron announced an international design competition to make Notre Dame “more beautiful than before”.
The restoration plans have caused a wide and lively debate on whether to return the nearly destroyed Notre Dame to its classical appearance or to give it a modern look.
The Art Newspaper reported that a government restoration law passed by the French Parliament in July states that Notre Dame should be restored to how it was before the fire.
In its introduction to start the competition, GoArchitect said, “The future of Notre Dame should not be left to the big companies or closed-door meetings.” It said Notre Dame was “a cathedral for the people and its future should be influenced by the people”, and the competition is to “show the decision-makers that designers from all of the world should have a say”.

It’s OK to say you’ve never heard of grime – unless you’re from the UK. That’s because this kind of music was invented in the UK in the early 2000s.
To someone who’s not familiar with underground music culture, it’s difficult to tell the difference between hip-hop and grime since they are both noisy.
