文章大意:本文介绍了当你受到伤害的时候,最好的方法是原谅别人以及四种原谅别人的方法。
1 . 阅读短文,根据题目要求完成各小题。

What can you do when someone hurts(使受伤,使疼痛) you. Most people may be angry or even fight with the one who hurts him or her. But it’s not a good idea. The best way is to forgive(原谅,宽恕) him or her. Although(虽然,尽管) it is not easy for us to forgive people who hurt us. “Forgiveness makes people hopeful and it is good for our health.(A)”says Fredric, Ph. But how can we forgive others?

First, think of something beautiful and try to get yourself happy.

Second, don’t wait for others to say sorry to you. If some people hurt you, they won’t say sorry to you. They may just want to hurt you or they just don’t see things the same way.

Third, try to see things in others’ shoes.(B) You can write a letter to yourself from the offender’s(冒犯者) point. That can make you understand others better and make yourself happier.

3 . It might be fun to use your smartphone, but be careful. Too much screen time may be harmful to your health.

First, it is bad for your eyes. A researcher called Sarah Hinkley says the problem comes from the blue light that the screen gives out. Looking at a smartphone for a long time can cause eye strain(劳损), headaches and dry eyes. So it is a good idea to take a break every 15 minutes when you are working at a computer or using a smartphone.

Second, screen use can do harm to children’s brains. A new study shows that using screens too much can affect(影响) how children’s brains grow. If children use screens for more than one hour a day, they might have lower levels of white matter in their brains. White matter is a key to the development of language and reading skills. So it is wise to cut down the time of children using all kinds of screens.

Third, using screens too much will affect your sleep. According to a study, about 95% of the people between the ages of 13 and 64 use electronics before bed, especially the young people under 20. Doctors say that the light from those electronics at night may make you excited before you go to bed. Then it’s hard for you to get enough sleep. Plogging, a new way to exercise, began in Sweden(h), The name "plogging" comes from two words—the Swedish(瑞典的) word "plocka", which means "to pick up(捡起), and the word Jouging"", which means" to run slowly". A Swedish man called Erik started the movement, He saw rubbish here and there when riding to work each day. 10 . Green is an important color in nature. It is the color of grass and the leaves on trees. It is also the color of most growing plants. Sometimes, the word “green” means young, fresh and growing. Sometimes, it means something that is not yet finished. For example, a greenhorn is someone who has little experience as he is new to a situation. In the 15th century, a greenhorn was a young cow whose horns(角) had not yet developed. A century later, a greenhorn was a soldier who had no experience in war. By the 18th century, a greenhorn had the meaning it has today — a person who is new in a job.

About one hundred years ago, greenhorn was a popular expression in the west of America. People used it to describe a man if he came from one of the big cities in the east. The greenhorn didn’t have the skills to live in the hard country. Someone who is good at growing plants is said to have a green thumb(大拇指). This comes from the early 20th century. A person with a green thumb can make plants grow quickly and well. The Green Revolution is the name given to the development of new kinds of rice and other grains some years ago. It was the result of hard work by scientists who had green thumbs. Green is also the color used to describe the feeling — Jealousy(嫉妒). The green-eyed monster(怪兽) is not a dangerous animal from outer space. It is an expression used about 400 years ago by the British writer William Shakespeare in his play Othello. It means the unpleasant feeling when someone has something he wants to get. In most places in the world, the color green is one of the traffic lights.
