My hometown is on a small island which is a very quiet place. There used to be many     1     of trees and flowers. The     2     swam in the blue sea happily. For me, one of     3     happiest activities is playing at the beach. But years later the sea was filled     4     rubbish and the plants disappeared. The blue sea became dirty and the lovely fish died. I really felt sorry for     5     had happened to my hometown. Luckily, the government has taken some actions to     6     these problems. The government cleared the rubbish in the sea in the next few months. Now many workers pull     7     and clean the sea every day. The environment in my hometown is becoming     8     than before.

In fact, protecting the natural environment itself     9     also protecting our hometown. We must act together,     10     we will regret one day! Only in this way can it give us a comfortable place to live in.

I have lived in this beach city for more than sixteen years. Over the past sixteen years, great     1     have taken place.

First of all, the city has become much     2     than before. There used to be rubbish nearly everywhere in the city. The rivers that run through the city used to be dirty and smelly. There was     3     but rubbish in the black water. Thanks to the “civilized city” campaign (运动), the quality of the residents (居民) has     4    , so has the sense of protecting the environment. Now, you can     5     see people litter about. From morning till night, you can see cleaners are busy working to keep the city clean.

Secondly, the whole city has taken on a new look. The city government set up the Shell Theater in the year of 2016 and now it has become a symbol of this city. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was open to traffic on Oct. 25th of 2018 and it     6     with three cities. It is much more     7     for the local residents and tourists to travel by land instead of by sea. All the roads in this city have been rebuilt and widened. Besides,     8     old town has been repainted and decorated so that it doesn’t look shabby (破旧的) any more.

7 . The Xiangshan Lake Park is a beautiful park in Zhuhai. Many people like to go there     1     weekends. Children like to     2     kites in the park. And they often have     3     with their family or friends there. Old people like to sing     4     and dance to music there. They like to talk with each other in the park,     5    . And some young people like to read books there.     6     October, there are many beautiful flowers near the lake. The park looks nice at that time. Places of Interest

There are a number of natural and beautiful places in Shanxi. For example, Wutai Mountain is one of the     5     famous Buddhist（佛教）mountains in China. Yungang Grottoes is one of the largest grottoes in China. It is     6     “Chinese Treasure”. These grottoes last 50 years. Pingyao Ancient City was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997. The wall of Pingyao Ancient City was built in Ming Dynasty. The wall is ten meters     7    , 6163 meters around, and three to five meters wide at the top.

Food

The traditional food in Shanxi has attracted many tourists around the world. Shanxi is famous     8     its wheaten food（面食）. There are a lot of cooking ways like steaming, boiling, frying or baking. When I was a child, my family took a summer holiday each year in Devon.     1     took us three hours to drive there. It is a great place to take     2     holiday in England, and today let me tell you why.
