It’s children’s     3     place — they always play there when they’re free. If(如果) you love food, you can go to the     4     on Mill Street. Oh, there is a nice café(咖啡厅) in     5     of it. Next to the café is a flower(花) shop. It     6     all kinds of beautiful flowers to people. There is a sports center     7     the supermarket and the post office. Many young people like to     8     time exercising there on weekends. If you enjoy     9    , you can go to the library on Victoria Street. It’s near the hospital.

Hello everyone! I arrived at my hometown yesterday by car.

My grandparents live in a small town fifty kilometers away     1     Guangzhou. At eleven, I got there. They     2     an hour cooking in the kitchen for me. In the evening, they told me a lot about their daily life.

They showed me around the town. The town is different now. Trees and flowers     3     everywhere. I think the town is more     4     than before. The town is a perfect place for a holiday,     5     why not come with me next time?

I’m in Seoul now! It’s a big and noisy city but my neighborhood is not     1     noisy place. I like living here.   There’s a bank across     2     my house. So I can get money easily     3     I need some. There’s also an Internet café. In fact, I am here right now. I’m     4     this email to you here and having lunch too.

The air is great here because there is a river near my house. There is a     5     over it. I like to walk along it at night when the     6     shines on the river. It is so beautiful. Every morning I     7     my bike to my office. On weekends, I sometimes fly kites near the river and when it is     8    , the wind sends my kite high into the sky.

The people here are nice to me. Some try to speak English to me as my Korean (韩语) is not good. Learning a new     9     is not easy for me but I will keep learning.     10     are you these days? Please write to me when you are free. I can’t wait to hear from you.

From April 30th to May 9th, four of the Bronze (铜) Zodiac (生肖) Animal Heads in Old Summer Palace—the ox head, the tiger head, the monkey head and the pig head—were showed in Shantou     1     the first time.

The Animal Heads were made according to the 12 zodiac signs during Qing Dynasty. They are the symbols of 12 Shichens of the day in ancient time.     2     it comes to its time period, a Head will pour water out of its mouth.

In 1860, the Old Summer Palace was burned down by British and French forces. A lot of Chinese treasures,     3       the 12 Bronze Zodiac Animal Heads, were taken away. After that, they were lost for more than 140 years. Luckily, some of the Heads made     4     way home after 2000. By now we have succeeded in bringing eight of them back home with the     5     of many Chinese.

“One of the reasons why we     6     them to Shantou is to show our respect (尊重) for the hard-working Shantou people, and especially for the     7     with a history of 162 years.” the host of the show says. “As     8     as I know, Shantou opened its port (开埠) in 1860. It was also the     9     year when the Bronze Zodiac Animal Heads were lost abroad. So these cultural treasures happen to have a new relation with Shantou, which adds     10     special meaning to this show.”
