My name is Li Ming. My home is in Changshou. Do you know it? It is in Chongqing. Changshou is not a big city,     1     it is very nice and clean. There is a lake (湖) in Changshou. Its name is Changshou Lake.

Our house is near Changshou Lake. Behind our house there is     2     big old tree. My grandparent tells me that the tree is very, very old. There are many birds     3     the tree. We call it a “bird tree”. Our house is near the lake. The lake is big and blue. There     4     a lot of fish in the lake. After school, I go there and catch fish     5     my friends. It is very interesting. I like fish and I also like catching fish.

3 . As far as I know, China, with 9,600,000 square kilometers, has the largest population in A    1     (亚洲). The eastern part faces the Pacific Ocean. It has many endangered animals. The list i    2     (包括) the huge whales living deep in the sea, the “ships of the desert”—camels and so on. China is also pandas′ birthplace. According to panda keepers′ r    3     (调查), an adult panda can weigh 100 kilos or so and eat about 10 kilos of bamboo a day. To p    4     (保护) the wild animals, our government has built many nature reserves. 

The excitement of touring attracts many foreign t    5     (旅行者) to visit China every year. Feel free to have a tour, and you′ll find many famous places, such as the Great Wall, the longest man–made wall in the world. It′s more than 6,000 kilometers long and w    6     (宽的) enough at the top for five horses or ten men to walk side by side. It′s very steep and amazing. Be careful not to fall over on the Great Wall. 

The Himalayas are amazing. They run along the s    7     (西南的) part. Qomolangma is the highest in the world, which is up to 8,844.43 meters high. T    8     (厚的) snow covers the top all year round. Many climbers want to challenge themselves in the face of difficulties, even though it′s hard to take in air near the top in the freezing weather conditions. Some have s    9     (成功) and achieved their dreams. Climbing Qomolangma is a great a    10     (成就) for them.

4 . I love traveling, nature and animals. I have been to many t    1     (主题) museums, such as the National Science Museum, the International Museum of Toilets and the Hangzhou National Tea Museum in Zhejiang Province. In the National Science Museum, I learned about many i    2     (发明) and knew who invented them. It's unbelievable that technology has made such rapid progress. It e    3     (鼓励) me to study harder. In the Hangzhou National Tea Museum, I watched an u    4     (不同寻常的) tea art performance and learned how to make a perfect cup of tea with beautiful tea sets. I have learned many s    5     (社会的) customs from the performance. 

This spring, I visited an amusement park with a couple of friends in Singapore. We saw t    6     (千) of foreigners, such as Germans, Indians and Japanese. We took some photos with my c    7     (照相机). 

Singapore itself is a p    8     (安宁的) and safe place to have fun. It's m    9     (主要地) near the equator. This is a good location for traveling. You can go there whenever you like. The temperature there is almost the same all year round. On the one hand, don't fear whether you can speak English or not. You can s    10     (只) speak Chinese there. On the other hand, it's also a good place to practice your English.

Look at the map of our     1     (镇). This is our school, just between a post office and a police station. Bridge Street is just in front of our school gate. Across from our school is a     2     (餐馆). It's between a hospital and a bank.     3     (在……的后面) the restaurant you can see a hotel. There is a     4     (付费) phone in it.

There is also a zoo in our neighborhood. It's     5     (在……附近) the hotel. You don't need to pay any     6     (钱) to go into the zoo because It's free. I often     7     (花) time there because I enjoy watching monkeys climbing     8     (在周围). And I like the clean air and sunshine there. To get there, I usually walk out of our school and turn     9     (右边). And turn left at the first     10     (十字路口) to North Road. Go along North Road and you can see the zoo on the right.

6 . If there is one place making people     1     (remember) lavender(薰衣草) most, it's Provence.

Provence is a part in southeastern France. In the words of many famous writers. Provence is     2     a name of a place, but also an easy and     3     (relax) lifestyle. It’s all because it is the hometown of lavender.

In the     4     (month) of July and August in Provence, it's the flowering (开花时节) of lavender fields.The sweet purple flowers     5     (be) in full bloom in the wind. There is always the smell of lavender in the air in Provence, and you never     6     (find) the smell in any other place.

The people there love lavender so much. They make the lavender essential oil (精油)     7     lavender tea. They also make soaps, perfume (香水) and even candles     8     lavender. In their hearts, lavender is an     9     (importance) part of their life.

7 . I     1     a great time last summer vacation. I went to England with my parents. We all know it is always wet and     2    (cloud) in London. So we each took an     3    . But it was sunny on the first day so we were very     4    (luck). On our     5    (two) day in London, we visited the London Eye and the Big Ben.

Winter
