Ballet

Ballet teaches grace, posture (姿势) and flexibility. Students focus on the use of proper ballet items (物品), expanding their knowledge of classical ballet techniques and improving motor skills for classical ballet practice. The class is a formal ballet class.

Creative Movers

Students can explore creative movement, balance, focus, the development of skills, motor planning and balance. The class helps build strength, flexibility and self-confidence, and allows children to realize expression in a positive and encouraging environment. Children use their imagination to celebrate movement and have lots of fun.

Jazz

Jazz includes movements from both classical ballet and dance techniques. This class will focus on traditional Jazz dance. Students will be introduced to jazz-style rhythms and movements. In order to ensure proper placement for your child, we invite all students to participate in a sample (示例) class. Students and parents work with program staff to meet students’ personal dance goals.

Hip Hop

Students will be introduced to several different aspects of hip hop dance including Popping, Locking, Breaking and Tutting in a high-energy environment. Our hip hop instructors are highly knowledgeable and will provide students with a wonderful view of hip hop dance.

2 . Malala Yousafzai was born in 1997 in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, a tourist area known for its beauty. But life there changed between 2007 and 2008 when Taliban leaders started making demands and threats. They forced women to stay home and banned girls from attending school.

Malala remembers her feelings, “I really had two choices. One was to remain silent and be killed, and the second was to speak up and then be killed. I chose the second one.”

Using a fake name, she wrote a diary about the difficulties under the Taliban, which was published on the Internet at age 11. At the same time, she used her real name and began making public speeches in favor of education. Months later Malala was identified as the diary’s author.

By 2012 Pakistan’s army had forced most of the Taliban out of Swat and restored (恢复) order. Life was returning to normal, and girls were returning to school. Malala’s life, though, was about to take an unexpected turn.

On October 9, 2012, Malala and her fellow students got on the bus after school to go home. Minutes later, two men boarded the bus and asked, “Who is Malala?” Without realizing what they were doing, the students turned and looked at their friend, showing who she was. The men shot Malala in the head, and Malala was badly injured.

Fortunately, Malala had an operation and survived. However, she needed additional care, so doctors decided to fly her to Birmingham, England, for recovery. Malala spent three months in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham making an outstanding recovery.

Nine months later on July 12th — her 16th birthday — Malala spoke at the United Nations. In a speech that was heard around the world, she demanded education for everyone.

On December 10, 2014, Malala and another person were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. At 17, Malala had become the youngest person to ever receive it, and she offered these words. “I’m just a determined and even stubborn person who wants to see every child getting quality education. I tell my story, not because it is unique, but because it is not.”

Today Malala lives in the United Kingdom and continues her campaign for education.

5 . The morning had been a disaster. My tooth was aching, and I’d been in an argument with a friend. Her words still hurt, “ The trouble with you is that you won’t put yourself in my place. It’s 100 percent solar-powered... we’re not going to get up to 760 miles per hour, but we believe we can actually break the records that are exiting right now.”

This means that a four-hour drive from Los Angeles, California to Las Vegas, Nevada, could someday take only 30 minutes by Hyperloop.

The system involves a series of capsules that float inside a long tube. These containers wouldn’t need to travel along a pathway or track. The system has been designed to operate above or below ground.

Inside the tube there is a low-pressure environment very similar to an airplane that’s at high altitudes. So now the capsule travelling inside the tube doesn’t meet with as much resistance, and therefore can travel really fast with very little energy.

Dick Ahlborn and his company will use an eight-kilometer track in Quay Valley to find the best way to set up passenger traffic and repair capsules. A larger system will cost an estimated 6 — 10 billion dollars to build.

If Mr. Ahlborn and his company succeed, we may one day see these very fast Hyperloop capsules speeding through tubes around the world.

8 . School rules

All students are expected to read and learn the School Rules. These rules aim to make each student aware of the value of self-control, orderliness and the need to develop a sense of responsibility for their own behavior and for the larger community of which they are a part.

Dress regulations (规定)

The school expects its students to wear their full school uniform correctly and with pride. It is our expectation that uniform and shoes will be clean and in good repair. Boys hair should be combed and of an acceptable length (not over the collar, ears or eyes), with no artificial coloring. Girls' hair should be of a natural color. Shoulder-length hair or longer must be tied back.

Punctuality (准时), absence and illness

All students must be at school on time. If late, the student must sign in the late book in the General Office. Parents are asked to inform the school if their child is absent by 8: 30 a.m. on the day of absence. A written note from a parent explaining the absence MUST be provided to the General Office the day after return.

Should a student be ill during school hours, he is to go straight to the School Medical Center The sister will then take appropriate action.

Safety

Proper behavior is expected within and around buildings and on the sporting field at all times.

Students are not to enter laboratories, language rooms, the Technics and music rooms until invited to do so by teachers.

The riding of bicycles or skateboards is prohibited along the front drive. Students riding bicycles must wear an approved bicycle helmet.

No knives, explosives or dangerous materials may be brought into the school or boarding houses.

Students are forbidden to interfere with fire safety equipment. An automatic fine will be imposed if this occurs.

Mobile phones

Mobile phones are not to be used from 8 30 a.m. to 3: 30 p.m. At these times, phones should be switched off. If you need to make contact with parents or other significant people, please contact Reception.
