Last Saturday evening, my friend and I went out to eat in the restaurant. While eat there, we happened to notice an elderly woman sitting alone. I’m an only daughter of my parents. So they are worried about everything I do. For example, when I ride my bike, my parents won’t let me ride by myself. They are afraid I might fall off my bike and hurt me. They are taking great trouble to support the bike, with my mother even carry a first-aid box. I’m free to ride and I often say angry, “Why not to let me ride alone?” Now, most families have one child. Parents want to do everything for their children. This does no good for them. In order to make best of learning materials, the Students’ Union of our school is planning an activity. The schoolleavers are called on to give away our used books, newspapers or magazines to the student in the lower grades. The idea, that is intended to promote friendship and encourage a lowcarbon lifestyle, are highly praised and supported by the teachers and students alike. During a show at my Junior high school, many other student chose to play a musical instrument or tell a joke, but I decided sing my favorite song. I had practiced the song many times and could sing it perfectly. However, this day doesn’t go as I had planned. When my name was called, I walked on the stage. Suddenly, 300 people were watching us. I was very nervous that my hands were shaking. Then the music came on. I couldn’t remember of the first part of the song and didn’t sing it at all. To my surprising, instead of laugh at me, people tried to cheer me on. I became relaxing and sang the rest perfectly. It was really a unforgettable experience.

Thank you for your letter, what really made me happy. I’m glad to know that you’ve come China to learn kung fu in a school in my hometown. I’m surely you’ll have a good time. Actually, I start to learn kung fu when I was seven years old, for I have long been out of practice. Luckily, I will go home in two weeks for summer vacations.
