Although it was autumn, it was snowing in Tibet. It was such cold that our legs felt like blocks of ice. On the afternoon, we found that our water bottles froze because cold weather. But we still enjoyed us during the journey. At one point, we were surprising to find ourselves cycling through clouds. In the valleys colorful butterflies fly around us. It was a great fun to cycle down the hills as it gradual became much warmer. But we had to change our warm coats for T–shirt and shorts.

Mobile phones are commonly using and play an important role in ours daily life. With their help, people mainly communicate and kept in contact with others in the past. But now things are total different. They allow people to have fun by watching short videos and play games. As a result of, a great many students of all age are addicted to mobile phones. And the overuse of mobile phones have distracted students from their study and caused disharmonious relationships between parents and children. The other day our school carry out a survey about how the youth would choose between careers and families. Here is the result.There is around 26 percent of the surveyed students assumed that the youth should focus their attention on careers with the aim of living independently and achieving their goals.Therefore, about a third of the students hold a different view. They think that in spite the importance of one’s enterprise, the company and warm of families are the most crucial things in the world.The rest of the students support the opinion which there should be a properly balance. In the summary, I argue that not only should we work hard, but we are supposing to devote some time to our family members.

Last Sunday, a large exhibition was hold in the National Museum to celebrate the success of Reform and Opening-up. My classmates and I were extreme honored to have the opportunity serve as volunteers. We arrived at the National Museum earlier in the morning. Wear the uniform, we got down to our work with great enthusiastic. With friendly smiles, some of we volunteered to greet and welcome the visitors at the entrance. In the exhibition hall, some volunteers stood in the front of the visitors. They were giving vividly introduction of the great achievements over the past years, that attracted the visitors and brought us a sense of achievement.

As we all know, books were a treasure house of human thought, from what we can know every corner of the world. Reading not only enriches our mind and broadens our horizons, enable us to be more knowledgeable. Beside, it helps develop our taste in literature and brings us pleasures. Books, especially good ones, are always inspirational and can cause you to think seriously about a particular subject. They require that we can use our imagination, rather than simply reading the words. All in all, books are great benefit to us! My brother has been fond at building things since he was a kid. After earning a degree in computer science, he has developed software for different businesses. With his childhood dream in mind, he eventual quit the job and began to build 3-D printers. Having never taken some classes in electrical engineering or robotics, he found everything he was supposed know on the Internet. He often starts with some parts finding from online stores. The rest is trial and error. He comes up with a design idea, test it and observes the result. If it doesn’t work, he analyzes why or starts over. That’s not so different from what a scientist does an experiment. I admire him for his applying original idea to real-world problems. I hope he will succeed.

Last week, an art exhibition held in our school library. I was fascinated by Chinese paintings, which also attract many foreign students. We noticed a vivid painting of a horse what seemed to gallop off the paper! Surprising, it was painted by a eighth grader. All the works were created by the students, who put our spare time into studying art despite of great academic pressure. The art exhibition brought us a lot of fun but helped us better understanding Chinese culture. How an amazing exhibition!

One morning, a father drove his two sons to school. On the way, the boys sat on the back seat, continually argue with each other about something. In order to make the exchange students have a better understanding of Chinese culture and develop everyone’s cultural aware, the Students’ Union will organize a Chinese Culture Festival on the afternoon of October 9th, that will be held in the school hall. Here is some relevant details about them.

In order to offer a chance to show our artistic talent, our school will held a Culture Festival next Wednesday, that will be great fun.
The Calligraphy Exhibition is aimed at students who have a burnt passion for calligraphy. And there will have a singing competition in the dining hall. In addition to, a hands-on pottery (陶器) workshop would be open for the whole day. We can create the art works of your own with the help of some skilled workers.
