Terry Fox, is born in 1958, studied physical education in university. At 19, his right leg was fitted with a artificial leg due to bone cancer. In 1980, he decided to run the “Marathon of Hope” across Canada, hoped to let people know about the suffering of cancer patients and to raise money for cancer research. On April 12, he start his run in Newfoundland. It was a difficult run, and he was very determined and kept running. Once during a flight, I sit next to an old man named Cliff, which was a fan of China. He had been studying Chinese for years, and he tried his best to learning a few new words every day. My friendly neighbor shared some of his life story with me, too. He had owned several businesses and had been failed in a number of them. However, Cliff thought his life was quite successfully. He spoke of his failure with same interest as he talked about his success. His life was wonderful but his experiences were meaningful. I never spoke ill of the people in his life and was thankful with all of them.
Students in our school is free to choose some special courses according to their interest. These course will help students relaxing after school. There are many courses what students can choose, such as English drama, football and singing. If you want to improve of your spoken English, English drama may be first choice. If you are interesting in football, you can take football as it will help me realize the importance of good teamwork. Besides, it was also good for your health. I like the singing course most because I sing good and want to improve my singing skills.

Jeremy has a large circle of friends and is very popular at parities. Everybody admire him for his great sense of humor. Recently, one of Jememy’s closest friend asked him to make a speech at a wedding reception. This is the sort of thing that Jeremy loves. He prepared the speech careful and went to the wedding with his daughter, Jenny. He included a large number of funny stories in the speech and of course, it was great success. As soon as he finished , Jenny told him she wants to go home. Jeremy was a little disappointing at this but he did as if his daughter asked. On the way home, he asked Jenny if he enjoyed the speech. In his surprise, she said she didn’t. Jeremy asked her why it was so and she told him that she didn’t like to see so many people laughed at him.
