That’s all for my presentation. Thanks for your listening!
We agreed the rabbit could spend the night in our back yard, and I would try to find a new home for it the next day. Our dog, Autumn, stretched (伸长) her neck to look at the rabbit in my husband’s hands. Autumn followed me. We went back into the house and locked the rabbit outside. My husband was worried about the rabbit’s safety all night.
The next morning, Autumn and I checked on the rabbit. Suddenly, the rabbit rushed from under the bushes(灌木) and directly ran towards Autumn. He ran in big circles around my big but gentle dog. I expected Autumn to run after the rabbit, but no, it was the rabbit that ran after her.
However, She seemed to enjoy being run after.

James Selton was one of the rudest boys in the village where he lived: If a person in the street was well dressed, he would cry out, “Dandy(花花公子)!” If a person’s clothes were dirty or torn, he would throw stones at him, and annoy him in every way.
One afternoon, just as the school was over, a stranger passed through the village. His dress was plain and somewhat old, but neat and clean. He carried a walking stick in his hand, on the end of which was a parcel, and he wore a round hat.
No sooner had James seen the stranger than he winked to his playmates, and said, “Now for some fun!” He then silently went toward the stranger from behind, knocked off his hat, and ran away.
The man turned and saw him, but James was out of hearing before the man could speak. The stranger put on his hat, and went on his way. Again James approached; but this time, the man caught him by the arm, and held him tightly. However, he contented himself with looking James a moment in the face, and then pushed him away. As soon as the naughty boy found himself free again, he began to throw dirt and stones at the stranger.
But James was very frightened when the man was struck on the head by a brick and badly hurt. All the boys ran away, and James slipped across the fields to his home.
As he drew near the house, his sister Caroline came out to meet him, holding up a beautiful gold chain and some new books for him to see. She told James that their uncle, who had been away several years, had come home, and was now in the house; that he had bought beautiful presents for the whole family; that he had left his carriage at the inn, a mile or two off and walked on foot so as to surprise his brother, their father.

Jenny is a pretty six-year-old girl. Born in a small town in Scotland, she is the apple of her parents’ eye. One day when Jenny and her mother were checking out at the supermarket, Jenny saw a plastic pearl necklace priced at $2.50. Obviously, Jenny liked it very much. She stared at it for a moment and looked up at her mother. When the mother and daughter’s eyes met, they both couldn’t help laughing knowingly.
Her mother bought the necklace for her on condition that she had to do some housework to pay it off. Jenny agreed. She worked very hard every day, and soon Jenny paid off the necklace. Jenny loved it so much that she wore it everywhere except when she was in the shower. Her mother had told her it would turn her neck green!
Jenny had a very loving daddy. He ran a cake shop in town. Business was slowing down, and the whole family only made ends meet. No matter what trouble she had, the strong man always smiled in front of his wife and children. Every evening, when Jenny went to bed, he would read Jenny her favorite story.
One night when the father finished reading an interesting story, he said, “Jenny, could you give me your necklace?”
“Oh! Daddy, not my necklace!” Jenny said. “But you can have Rosy, my favorite doll. Remember her? You gave her to me last year for my birthday. Okay?”
“Oh, no, darling, that’s okay.” Her father brushed her cheek with a kiss. “Goodnight, little one.” Jenny held her beloved necklace tightly for fear that it would be taken away.
A week later, her father once again asked Jenny for the necklace after her favorite story.
“Oh, Daddy, not my necklace! But you can have Ribbons, my toy horse. Do you remember her? She’s my favorite.”

Going to a British high school for one year was a very enjoyable and exciting experience for me.On the first day,all of the new students attended an assembly in the school hall. I sat next to a girl whose name was Diana.During the assembly, the headmaster told us that the best way to earn respect was to devote ourselves to studying hard and achieve high grades. This sounded like my school in China.
In our class there were 28 students. We had different students in some classes,so it was a struggle for me to remember all the faces and names.I found that the homework was not as heavy as what I used to get in my old school. However,it was a bit challenging for me at first, because all the homework was in English.I felt lucky,as all my teachers gave me much encouragement. My English improved a lot,as I spent an hour each day reading English books in the library.I could send e-mails to my family and friends back home for free.I missed Chinese food a lot at lunch. After lunch,we usually played on the school field.

Recently I graduated from high school, and as a gift I received a huge hunch of flowers, 40 to be exact! I had so many that I didn't know what to do with them. The next weekend my niece and nephew, Sue and Mike, aged 6 and 7, came and suddenly I had an idea. I might let them give out these flowers to people they met on the street, and in this way they could learn how to be friendly to others. So I told them about my plan and explained that these flowers would make people feel happy and smile. They loved the idea and were eager to have a try. So at once we took every single flower and tied a smile card to it. We then went to the street with the flowers.
The first flower went to a policeman. As soon as she saw the policeman, my niece ran up to him and handed him a flower. His smile was so big, but hers was even bigger!
In no time, we neared the end of our flowers. It was lunch time and we went to Subway for lunch. There the kids gave a flower to the waitress, who was really excited to receive the flower. As we were eating our lunch, the waitress came up to the kids with two big chocolate cookies! She said the chocolate cookies were for them and that she really liked the flower! As they ate the cookies, my niece and nephew looked at me with the biggest smiles I had ever seen.
