I love English so much. It is my favorite subject, because master a foreign language helps me to know more about the world. I always dreamed to travel around the world someday, so the first job is to learn English well. Since my teacher told me that there was an English corner in the square, I felt so exciting to go there. I found there was some foreigners and I felt nervous. At first, I just listened to them. Though I was eager to talk to them, but I was shy and afraid making stupid mistakes. One day, a foreigner talked to me, and she said she had seen me many times and led me to talk to her. Her heart was beating fast, but I started to say out some English word. After a while, we talked natural. I made big progress and took pride with myself.

There are many benefits you can get simple from learning a foreign language. They will increase employment opportunities. Many companies are trying expand the business and spread their influence in different country. You will become a prejudice-free person. When learning a new language, you can also pick out the values and beliefs it holds. Studies had proven that language is often connected to the culture itself. Therefore, by learn a new language, you will understand that the behavior means. In a conclusion, learning a foreign language can take you to a new and different world and make your life really easy and more interesting.
I enjoy learning English but can remember individual words easy. However, when it comes to reading comprehension, it’s really the challenge. Last weekend, I tried to read a storybook write in English to improve my reading. At first, I refer to the dictionary every time I came across a new word, which I found it not very helpful. I often felt puzzling about what I had read. Then I tried to finish a chapter completely with looking up the new words. What surprised me was I could understand the story merely from the context. I hope I will make great progresses in English in this way.

When I started learning Chinese, I was telling that it would take me 10 years to become fluent. However, I’m still working at it 27 years late.
Due to our work on television, some Chinese language learners may think my Chinese is very good. But every day I’m reminded of why I don’t know and how much more there is to learn about.
Gaining fluency in Chinese is marathon and a lot of things may effect how long it will take, from the classes you take, to find a good teacher. And different people have different ideas on fluency. I fell in love with the traditional Chinese literature when I was Grade Five. I watched some TV plays of Chinese Classics. Beside, I read Journey to the West, which is one of the four Chinese Classics. Late on, I read many more Chinese literary works including novels or poems. I have some useful tips for those interesting in the Chinese literature. First, turning to the Internet for help, where you can get a plenty of resources about it. Two, you can learn from Chinese people around. But the most important was to read as many Chinese literary fiction as you can.

I develop an interest in English at an early age due to my desire to travel around the world. Now I hold the belief interest is the best teacher.
