Enlarge the vocabulary, as we know, is must for us to learn English well. Students told me that if they knew the meanings of more words, he could do better in the exams. But how is the way to memorize new words effective? Doing more reading and learn the words in context will work. The more you read, the larger number of word you will know. After reading, you’d better to retell what you’ve read in your own way, where will help you use the words flexibly. If you have your vocabulary enlarged, you are more likely to make yourself became a better learner.

I preferred my English classes to be taught only in English, because it is helpful for us to improve an ability to speak and listen.
I have strong interested in English and foreign culture, so I’d like to be total absorbed in the atmosphere of English. I can quickly make a progress. However, since we are all English beginners, it’s really hard understand the words which is difficult. They need mother language to understand sometime.
So my viewpoint is that we should use Chinese as a minor way to explain something which is difficult for students.

I enjoy learn English and can remember words easily. However, when it come to reading comprehension, it’s really a challenge. In order improve my reading I tried to read a storybook written in English on last Sunday. At first, I refer to the dictionary every time I came across a new word, which I found not very helpful. I often felt puzzling about what I had read. Then I tried to finish a chapter completely without looking up the new words. How surprised me was that I could understand the story well. I’m satisfied that now I have a good way to learn English than before. I hope I will make great progresses in English in a way.
One day, I happened to find a chatting room in my QQ, people were chatting with English. I try to chat with some of them. To my surprised, I found the oral English of some junior students were better than mine. I asked them for advices and they told me to practise more on QQ. But every day after that, I would spend one hour practise my oral English on QQ. Day by day I learned from many useful words and expressions. With time went by, I found that I could even communicate with some college students freely.

At the age of 10, I begin to chat with foreigners. At first, I was very shy, and gradually with foreigners’ help, I became more and more confidence. The following year, I went to Lintong with two foreigners as our guide. We visited the Terra-Cotta Warriors Museum where we took lots of photos, enjoying the beautiful scenery. After that, they went to buy souvenir. The sellers couldn’t speak English. Though it was little hard for me, I tried my best to translate their words on both sides. Finally, the two foreigners accompanying by me bought satisfactory goods. This unforgettable experience made me to understand where “Practice makes perfect.” means.

Languages had fascinated me since I was young and have had a hugely impact on my life. After study several languages at university, I started travelling to a variety of country to learn languages. Not only I gain knowledge and a fun through this experience, but I also met my future wife. Culture is something what can be shared among all the different people of mankind. Let’s take this year’s Mid-Autumn Festivals as an example: On our campus, we can see people from different cultural backgrounds, dressing up in their own costumes such like hanfu, hanbok (韩服) and also kimonos (和服). They both have their own characteristics.

I began to learn English at 10 years old, where I was still in primary school. In a fact, I was having much trouble with English then. I wasn’t good at it until I gone to senior high school last year. One day, I went to my English teacher office. My English teacher was rather strict, but I needed help. As she was attempting explain a problem, I said in a low voice that I was too stupid to understanding it. To my surprise, she gentle replied, “Don’t say that. It’s not because you are stupid but because you are not familiar to it.” I often think about what she said, which allows myself to see things from a different angle. Now she is one of my favorite teachers. And my English have greatly improved.

When I firstly came to the U.K, I found out the importances of knowing English. Wherever I took a bus to a bank, or went to the market to buy a food, I had to communicate in English. Otherwise things would not go smoothly. But there are two more important reasons for me to learning English. One was to be able to go through the interview process to get a job but the other was to be able to read English and know what was going on the world. Luckily, I had learned English good enough. So, I nearly had no problem live in an English-speaking country any more.
