My speaking English was not standard at first. My English teacher once asked me to read a text, but all my classmates laughed me. I didn’t understand why. Late, my friend told me that my pronunciation was really strange. It was the first time that I have read an English text in class, and failed. I felt very ashamed. Then, I didn’t want to speak English in the front of anyone.
When my English teacher knew it, she began to correct my pronunciation. With his encouragement, I put my heart into read words, phrases and texts. He told me that when there’s a will there’s a way. Thanks to him, I have made great progresses.
I feel very honored to be invited at your lecture about the body language in different countries next Monday. I’m real looking forward to it.

Nowadays there was a kind of language called Web language. Some people even speak Chinese mixed in English words. This is a phenomenon which is worth think about. Some people think it will ruin a Chinese language. However, the others, especially the youngsters, are fond this new language. They think it of special help in expressing them. What’s more, it may make the language having more uses. In my opinion, it’s no good using this kind of language. It may be popular, but you may also get others puzzling. Being a senior student, I like English more than any other subject. Besides take English lessons at school, I go to the English Corner in the park where is near my home on Saturday mornings. It was set up two years ago, for purpose of helping students make progresses in English. Many high school students regular gather there. Sometimes some college students or even foreign friends are present at the English Corner. Here we practice spoken English, talking about what we are interested in and sharing with our experience in learning English. My English had been greatly improved since I attended them for the first time.

Why is it necessary for us to learn English? This is a good question. First, learning English allows me make more friends. Having more friends mean more ways. Second, with a good command of English, I can travel around the world more easy. The world is such big that I want to have a look. When I was young, I was terribly poor in the Chinese. Be afraid of expressing myself was one of the reasons that I rarely did well in school. Once I failed in a mid-term exam. When I got the papers, I realized things could have been better if I listened to the teacher much more attentive. I got a nice bike as a birthday gifts at the age of nine. So excitedly was I that I couldn’t wait to ride it. However, it was the more challenging than expected. I couldn’t control it in all. I got discouraged and wanted to stop try, but my father encouraged me. With a little more practice, I finally learned what to ride them.
