Qian Xuesen was born in Shanghai on December 11th, 1911. He is known as “the father of China’s space program” and “the king of the rocket”.
When he was 24 years old, Qian went to America for further study. After graduation, he worked in America for a few years, where his working conditions were better. In the early 1950s, he heard New China had been founded and decided not to stay in America any longer. He succeeded in coming back to his motherland in 1955 though the American government tried to stop him.
In 1956, Qian Xuesen suggested setting up a special organization, which later became the leading organization for China’s rocket and air travel programs. In June 1964, China successfully created its first medium rocket. Qian also played an important role in developing China’s first man made satellite (卫星). On April 24th, 1970, “Dong fanghong-Ⅰ” was successfully sent into the air.
Zhu Yilin, who was said to be the last student of Qian Xuesen, once said, I learned a lot of professional knowledge as well as the spirit and attitude that a scientist should have from Mr. Qian, especially his deep love for the motherland. Without that, he couldn’t have helped to develop science and technology when New China was badly in need of scientists for its development. Without that, he would not have made the great contributions(贡献)to rocket industry in the late 1950s and early 1960s when conditions in China were too hard.”

Set goals, reach them and then set new goals. This is a good way to be successful. As a student, do you have a goal in your learning? Today I want to talk about something about learning goals.
Why should you have a learning goal? Learning is a long and difficult process. This process can be easier if you set goals. Goals can help you learn things step by step and then you will see it easier to make it.
What kinds of learning goals should you set? Many students set difficult and even unreasonable goals. For example, someone may set a goal like improving his English pronunciation in a week. It is too difficult to reach in such a short time. So please set the learning goals that you can reach.
How to set a learning goal for yourself? First, know what you want to learn. That means you should know your goal clearly. Then, finish your goal day by day. Usually you can’t reach your goal in a short time. Don’t worry about that. Just study hard every day and you will reach your goal at last.

Open an App, place your order, and wait for your food to be delivered(递送)to your home— this is how many people eat in China these days. According to the latest data from the China Internet Network Information Center, 421 million Chinese people use online food delivery services. That’s equal to half of the total number of Internet users in China.
Which group of people is ordering food online the most? Unsurprisingly, its mainly young people. A recent report that was jointly(联合)published by the China Hospitality Association and Meituan, a food delivery service, showed that 86.3 percent of the service’s users are between 20 and 34 years old. These people, who are more likely to live in small families are the major force driving the development of the food delivery industry.
Small families depend greatly on food delivery services. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Chinese families have changed in size over the past decade. In 2002, only 7.7 percent of families were single-person households. But this number increased to 15. 6 percent in 2017.The percentage of two-person families rose from 18.4 in 2002 to 27.2 in 2017. For small families, cooking is relatively more time and resource-consuming(耗时耗材), so ordering food online has become more popular.
The improvement of China’s food delivery services has also attracted more customers. According to Meituan’s report, the average time it takes to make a food delivery dropped from 38 minutes in 2016 to 29 minutes in 2019. Many delivery platforms are also offering more services, and delivering products such as fruit, vegetables, medicine and flowers. Zambia is the fourth country in Africa— after Kenya, Uganda and South Africa— to offer Chinese language programs in its schools.
Starting this year,Russian middle school students can take Chinese as an elective(选修) foreign language on Russia’s college entrance exam.
