Most people graduate from school and then get a job. Everyone wants a job that pays well. How much money can you make? Ask yourself these questions: What can I do? What skills do I have? Also ask yourself: How much education do I have? For most jobs, the higher your education, the higher your earning power.

In the United States, high school graduates make about $18,600 a year. If you do not finish high school, you make only $10,800 a year. You can make $7,800 more each year by staying in high school!

If you stay in school, then you can make more money. A person with a high school degree makes about $18,600 a year. If that person goes to college and gets a bachelor’s degree(学士学位), he can make $42,000. With a master’s degree (硕士学位), he can make about $53,000. If the person gets a PhD(博士学位), he can make almost $79,000 or more a year.

We can learn a very important thing from this information. If you want to work and make more money, get a good education.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了美国森林学校的大致情况以及作者的儿子在森林学校的经历。

【推荐1】When I picked up my son from preschool on a summer afternoon, he looked dirty from head to toe. He told me how he and his classmates played in the nearby forest. It was a hot day, so they took off their shoes to put their toes in the river. He described excitedly to me the wonderful feeling of the cool river water.

This isn’t a common preschool in the United States. It’s a forest school. A large part of my son’s school day takes place across 1,000 square meters of forest.

Today’s kids are under great pressure. They are required to learn more. However, outdoor time for children is decreasing (减少). This caused many problems.

More and more parents have realized the importance of outdoor play. The number of forest schools in the US has jumped from 20 in 2008 to 250. Forest school kids spend their days watching ant hills, jumping in mud or even climbing tall trees. There are no direct instructions.

Are forest schools really better for today’s children than traditional preschools? The answer depends largely on whom you ask. Personally, I like forest schools. Because my son has been more active and brighter with improved problem-solving skills. He also has learned how to deal with small dangers and how to protect the environment. Most importantly, my son is excited to go to school every day. Do you spend most of your time studying indoors? Remember to hug nature sometimes.

1. How did the writer’s son feel when he described his experience in the forest school?
A.Bored.B.Nervous.C.Happy.D.Confident.
2. The students in forest school can take some outdoor activities EXCEPT ________.

A.The writer doesn’t think forest schools are better than traditional preschools.
B.The writer thinks every kid should go to forest schools instead of traditional preschools.
C.The writer prefers forest schools because of his son’s changes.
