He Yueling, a fifth-grade student, won’t be going home right after school this term because after-school care programs become available in all primary and middle schools in Shanghai. He Yueling says he now does math homework much more quickly with the help of his teacher on this program. It’s quite common to find his school full of life before 5:30 p.m. every day.
