1 . As we all know, tea has been popular all over the world for centuries. The drink started in China. According to a famous story, tea was discovered by Shen Nong. And the first known book on tea, The Classic of Tea, was written by Lu Yu, during the Tang Dynasty. As the drink is growing more and more popular, it has been considered as one of the necessary drinks in our daily life.

Chinese tea can be divided into several kinds: green, white ,yellow , oolong( 乌龙茶),black and post-fermen- ted(后发酵茶).

First let's talk about green tea which might be the most popular tea in China. Green tea is heat-treated(热处理) soon after picking. The kind of tea can help reduce the risk of cancer.

White tea is simply dried without any other processing. Yellow tea is a kind of unusual and expensive tea in China. The process of making yellow tea is similar to green tea.

Oolong tea, also known as Qingcha, is a kind of semi-fermented(部分发酵) tea. And black tea is strong in smell. This kind of tea is produced in many countries and welcomed by the world.

In the past, Chinese enjoyed having tea in many different places. Although we seem to be too busy to pay attention to those tea ceremonies (礼仪) nowadays, the culture of Chinese tea shouldn't be forgotten. We hope that people will get to know more about the culture and carry forward it.

3 . As we all know, everyone has a different temperament(脾气). It is usually believed that both genes(基因)and environment may affect people’s temperaments in different ways. But now scientists have found that the season of birth also plays a role.

Scientists did a survey among 400 university students. In the study, the students needed to finish a questionnaire(问卷). The purpose of it was to find out which of the four kinds of temperaments they were more likely to have. Scientists found the students always answered something like “ My mood often changes for no reason” and “ I love to deal with new projects, even if they are risky” . These answers were then matched with their birthdays.

They discovered that people born in summer easily changed their moods between sadness and happiness compared with people born in winter. Those who always felt positive were mostly born in spring and summer. The study also found that those who were born in autumn less probably had a mood of depression(沮丧)which might easily drive them to cry.

Scientists said that this was probably because the seasons had an influence on certain chemicals(化学物质)in the human body. And the chemicals were important to control people’s moods even in adult life.

2. The survey aims to discover which of the four kinds of temperaments people are more likely to have.

4 . People often ride bikes in the city. But if you want to ride in a mountainous area, you might need to change your bike's tires( 轮胎) or even use a different bike. This is quite inconvenient(不便的) for city bikers.

A company from Norway has found a way to solve this problem. The company has invented reTyre, a new kind of tire. The tire is made of rubber(橡胶) and has a zipper(拉链) on the side. When you want to ride in the mountains, you can just put reTyre over your bike tires. It's kind of like how we put on different clothes depending on the wea- ther.

The installation(安装) process takes less than 60 seconds. A small piece of round metal on the zipper locks in place once you finish the installation. There's no need to worry about it moving here and there against the base tire. The tire is not easy to press into a different shape, even at high speeds or when taking a sudden turn. There are three types of reTyre that are suitable for different land conditions.

In the future, the company plans to make tires that can communicate with the rider through a smart phone.

5 . Getting a good night's sleep can make you feel more refreshed (精力恢复) when you wake up in the morning. All stages of sleep are important; if you're not getting enough sleep, waking up in the morning can be really hard.

Most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep a night to make sure they're performing at their best. Getting enough good-quality sleep will make you wake up feeling good and more active during the day.

Too much bright light at night can make falling asleep difficult. This is because bright light prevents melatonin(褪黑素) which can promote sleep. This is why we don't advise using things like mobile phones, tablets(掌上电脑)or laptops in bed before sleep.

Eating a large evening meal too close to bedtime can put pressure on your stomach when you lie down. Eating dinner at least two to three hours before going to bed will make sure food is digested enough. Drinking water or something else should also be reduced before bedtime so you don't wake up to go to the toilet. It's advised to avoid wine for at least four hours before bedtime.

A.not wake up easily in the morningB.find it very hard to sleep again

7 . 反式脂肪

There may be something in your food that you can't see and smell. But it could be killing you. It's called trans fat(反式脂肪).

Trans fat is usually taken from the hydrogenated( 氢化) vegetable oil. Food makers use this low-priced oil to make food stay fresh longer. It can be found in food such as cakes, fried food and so on. Studies have found that trans fat increases the risk of heart disease.

“Some countries have been stopping trans fat from being used, such as Denmark and a few states in the US. And it's really important that governments around the world change trans fat for healthier oils,” said Frieden, the head of the public health organization.

The WHO calls on governments to take some steps. These include changing trans fat for healthier oils, letting the public realize trans fat can have bad influence on people's health, and carrying out anti-tans fat laws.

8 . 冰激凌

Do you like eating ice-cream? The earliest ice was eaten in China many years ago. People put fruit juice into ice. Later, this idea spread to Italy. Nero, the emperor of Rome between 54 AD and 68 AD, liked to eat ice between violin lessons. He ordered runners to run to the mountain to get snow and then quickly run back to the palace. And the snow was mixed with fruit juice and honey.

Around 1660, coffee shops serving ice-cream were very popular in Paris. Most of the coffee shops were owned by Italians. The first successful one was opened by a man from Italy named Francesco Procopio.

Ice-cream was probably passed to America in the early 1700s. Dolly Madison, the wife of President Madison, was the first one to serve her guests ice-cream in the White House.

Before ice-cream was sold in stores, it was made and frozen(冷冻) at home. It took lots of work to mix cream, eggs, fruit, ice and salt, and then to freeze it. Nancy Johnson, an American woman made the hand-turned ice-cream freezer(冷冻机) in 1846. Five years later, Jacob Flusell opened the first ice-cream store in Baltimore, Maryland.
