1 . It's true that you can learn new words when you read or listen, but you should also study new words seriously. Here are a few things I do:
Make flash cards(识字卡):(A) I find this is really the best way to learn new words. Make some small cards and write the new English word on one side and the word in your language or in easy English on the other side to test yourself. To really make this work, you have to review often(You need a system! ). I think this is the best method for learning English vocabulary.
Make sentences with the new words: This is great if you can ask someone to check them. It's also great to make some really crazy sentences-that way you won't forget them! I also collect example sentences of the words I'm trying to learn一if I see the word in a book, I write down the sentence.
Make up a mnemonic:A mnemonic is a way to remember something, like a little story. For example, (B) 我在厨房的门上贴上单词 kitchen. The problem with this is that it works for a while but then you get used to the words and forget to read them!

Travel by train is slower than by plane, but it has its advantages. You can see the country you are traveling through. Modern trains have comfortable seats and dining cars. They make even along journey enjoyable.
Some people prefer to travel by sea when .possible. There are large liners and riverboats. You can visit many other countries and. different places...Ships are not so fast as trains or planes, but travel by sea is a very pleasant way to spend, a holiday-.
Many people like to travel by car. You can make your own timetable. You can travel three or four hundred miles or only fifty: or one hundred miles a day, just as you like. You can stop wherever you wish where there is something interesting to see, at a good restaurant where you can enjoy a good meal, or at a hotel to spend the night. That is why traveling by car is popular for pleasure trips, while people usually take a train or plane; when they travel on business.

Nine students were included' the most important thing of all. Usually people stand on the right side of the escalator, because our right arms are stronger.
Escalators are like moving toys for many kids,They like to run up and down on them. This is dangerous, even if you are not in the way. Escalator steps are not designed for running, experts warn. The empty space between every two steps on an escalator is usually wider than that of normal steps in buildings.
The above two rules apply to(适用于)most countries. But there are also some cultural differences.
In most countries, people stand on the right side on escalators. The left side is saved for those who are in a hurry. But in Australia, people usually stand on the left side.
So you need to watch what local people do. But the idea behind choosing a side on escalators is the same: to show your respect to others. It could also save people's lives.

Usually, your body will tell you when you are angry. For example, you breathe faster, your face turns red, and you may want to break something or hit(打) someone, but sometimes, you hide(隐藏) your anger. For example, you may hide it in your heart. The problem is that if you do this, you may get a headache or your stomach may hurt.
In fact, it’s not good to hide your anger, and it’s normal for you to get angry sometimes. But anger must be let out in the right way, without hurting others or yourself.
When you get angry, you can talk about it with other people. 10 . Tim Berners-Lee is not the most famous inventor in the world. However, his invention has changed
our lives.
He was born in London, England in 1955. When he was a small boy, Tim was interested in
playing with electrical things. He studied science at Oxford University. He made his first computer
from an old television at the age of 21.
Tim started working on early computers. At that time, they were much bigger than now. He worked in England then Switzerland. Tim was really interested in two things, computers and how the brain
works. How could the brain connect so many facts so quickly? He had to work with people all
over the world. They shared information about computers. It was hard to manage all the information. He answered the same questions again and again. took a lot of time. It was even difficult for computers in the same office in Switzerland to share information. Tim also forgot things easily. Could a computer work like a brain? Could it “talk” to other computers?
There was an Internet already but it was difficult to use. In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web (WWW) all by himself. This had a special language that helped computers talk to each other on the Internet. When people wanted to share information with others, they used the World Wide Web. The Internet grew quickly after that.
Tim Berners-Lee doesn’t think he did anything special. He says that all of the ideas about the Internet were already there. All he did was to put them together. He says that many other people worked together to make the Internet what it is today.
Most inventors want to become rich. But Tim gave away the World Wide Web for nothing. He now works in America. He helps people share technology and wants the Internet to be free for everyone to use. Maybe he is the most important but least famous inventor in the world today!
