Fruit, fruit juice, vegetables and salads were the least popular choices.

He died early on Friday despite an “all-effort rescue” after contracting the virus Jan. 30, according to The People's Daily. The World Health Organization said, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Li Wenliang. We all need to celebrate the work that he did on the virus.”
In a posting on social media, Li alerted fellow doctors Dec. 30 about the emergence of a SARS-like illness, warning them to wear protective clothing to avoid infection, the newspaper said. The coronavirus in Wuhan has claimed 565 lives among more than 28,300 cases.
Four days later, Li was accused of “making false comments” that had “severely disturbed the social order”. Police said he was one of eight people under investigation for “spreading rumors”. Authorities later apologized to Li, who became a national hero as a whistleblower as the illness spread.
The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that China should praise the eight Wuhan whistleblowers. “They were wise before the outbreak,” though any judgment needs to be backed by scientific evidence. The Supreme People's Court criticized the police for their actions, saying that although the initial reports by Li and others about a possible SARS outbreak were wrong. they were a useful alert that should have been allowed “If the public listened to this ‘rumor’ at that time and adopted measures such as wearing a mask and avoiding going to the wildlife market, this may be a better way for us to prevent and control the new disease today.”

8 . The spring season brings warm weather, flowers and other changes for people to enjoy. For some restaurant cooks, the most exciting spring arrival is ramps.
Ramps are a wild plant in the eastern mountains of North America. They are one of the first plants that grow in the spring. Usually between April and May. They are recognized (识别) by their red stem (茎), and two long and wide green leaves. They are also famous for their strong taste, similar to onions(洋葱).
Ramps are not as well-known as other vegetables, but they have a long history in the United States. In the Appalachian Mountains, ramps have been an important food for a long time. During spring it is common for small towns in the Appalachian area to hold large ramp dinners for the community.
However, over the last 30 years, ramps popularity has grown quickly. They are now a highly-desired vegetable for many nice restaurants in cities like New York and Washington D. C.
One reason the plant is popular is that it grows in the wild. It is difficult to grow them on farms. Most restaurants get them from foragers, who collect ramps by searching forests for some small pieces of land where they grow. Ramps have a short season. Within a few weeks of full growth, the plant is done for the year. This short life is some reason for their popularity.
And that popularity could lead to their disappearance from Earth. In 1995, the local government in Quebec, Canada stopped people selling the plant to businesses in order to protect the plant against being over-dug.
The season is short, but it has not ended yet. If you are in the right place, You still have time to try a taste of ramps yourself.

For example, it’s a common misunderstanding that snakes are dangerous and will attack (攻击) humans for no reason. In fact, almost all snakes prefer to run away or hide A they’re attacked first.
Snakes aren’t the only animals that are misunderstood. People think that cockroaches (蟑螂) are dirty and like to hide in dark places. In fact, cockroaches usually clean themselves as much as cats do. They prefer to live in clean places. They have to hide wherever they can make sure to live. Luckily, they are very hard to die out. They were here on the planet B humans appeared, and they’ll probably be here after we’re gone!
Wasps (黄蜂) also have a bad fame. Many people hate wasps because they believe that wasps sting (叮) humans at a moment’s notice. Actually, most wasps don’t sting at all. Those that do sting are generally protecting their young, or reacting to humans who shout or wave their hands at the wasps.
Should we care about these misunderstood animals? Yes, we should! Every animal species plays an important role in the ecosystem (生态系统). Some help control other pest populations. 10 . You may have been told before not to be afraid of anything. Fear is often associated with weakness. Fear is something to be avoided.
But that’s not true, according to Time For Kids magazine. Fear can be good for us.
Fear tells us about danger. Without fear, we wouldn’t know to run away from a tiger or step back from a cliff.
In a study published in the Justice Quarterly journal in August, researchers from Michigan State University said that a healthy fear of crime keeps teenagers away from potentially(潜在地) dangerous people, places, and activities.
Fear makes us jump, scream and sweat. But interestingly, sometimes we make ourselves feel fear on purpose. Think about scary(恐怖的) books and movies, and also the long lines for a scary roller coaster(过山车)ride.
Margee Kerr, a US sociologist, explained why to Time For Kids.
Fear fills our brain with healthy chemical substances, especially endorphins (内啡肽) and dopamine (多巴胺), and these things create feelings of happiness and excite us, according to Kerr.
In addition, when you’re scared, your body produces a chemical which helps people bond with each other.
“Watch people walking out of a haunted (闹鬼的) house, and you’ll see lots of smiles and high fives (击掌),” Kerr told Time For Kids. That also explains why schools and companies organize challenging trips and physical activities to build up team spirit.
People experience and deal with fear in different ways. If you happen to be a “coward” who gets scared easily, don’t worry. There is some evidence that being scared can help a person manage stressful situations.
Kerr said that things like giving a report in front of your class or performing in a school play help build a sort of endurance (忍耐力) to fear that makes us more confident.
“You become more comfortable with the physical experience of fear, and so you’re better able to work through it during tense situations,” said Kerr.
So learn to love your fear. It only grows when we forget how helpful our fear is trying to be.
