So how should we avoid this problem? Local education departments have also issued a notice, that is, to organize online teaching and create a network platform (平台), where necessary courses will be shown every day, and online teaching will be given by excellent teachers of the subject. It is a good method. It can make students study at home, improve their learning ability, and truly achieve "no suspension of classes".

3 . More and more people believe that technologies are great for learning. Today, such teaching tools as iPads are used in a lot of courses, including language, history and science.
Many teachers are supporters(支持者)of using iPads in language learning. They say that students now have much more time for discussion in the classroom. Instead of spending class time listening to texts or watching teaching videos, students can do this on their own and come to class prepared for discussion.
The teachers also say that iPads allow students to learn at their own pace. Some students might listen to a conversation only once and understand it, so they can save time for doing other things. Other students, however, might need to listen to the same conversation again to understand it.
The students who are using the new tool in some courses are also happy. They believe that using iPads is a more enjoyable way to learn (such as listening to stories and watching movies ). The class has become much more interesting and creative.
There are other advantages(优点)for students. By using iPads, they can pay more attention to the material and learn more. Teaching notes are stored(分类)in their iPads and are easy to find. Some students spend more time studying now. “I can listen to my language material or watch teaching videos on the bus, instead of having to wait until I get home,” a student explained.
Many adults complain that technologies such as iPads are bad for students. They worry that students might use iPads to download teaching notes and use them to cheat during exams. Some believe that iPads may separate(分隔)students from each other.
However, technologies are already a part of most students’ day-to-day lives. As for cheating, teachers can ask students to hand in their iPads when they take exams. Education needs to make changes with the times as technology is playing an important part. We should look forward to a wonderful future when iPads and other technologies can add a lot to the classroom.

According to the UN, over 140 tons of rubbish has been left on the mountain. To reduce rubbish, China started to limit (限制) the number of people who are allowed to climb up the north side of the mountain in 2019. Only 300 people will be allowed to climb it, and only during spring.
Local residents(居民) took away trash at heights of 5200 meters and above. Last year, they collected about 8.4 tons of trash, according to the Tibet autonomous region’s government (西藏自治区人民政府).

The local government is also setting up stations to sort(分类), recycle and break down garbage collected from the mountain. A group of artists will also try to turn the trash into artwork.
Our focus is for the mountain to be climbed in a scientific and green way.” said Sonam, secretary of the Tibet mountaineering association (登山协会).

The government suggested that its people stay indoors and not open windows during the dust storm. It will be the second time this month that the capital has been hit by smog and dust storm.
Shanxi and Gansu provinces, and Xinjiang and Ningxia and Inner Mongolia are also expected to have dusty weather over the weekend, according to the National Meteorological Center on Friday.

Liu Yi, a Beijinger who just gave birth to a baby girl last week, said she couldn’t know what to do in the bad environment. “I can’t go out. And I can’t even open the window and breathe some fresh air.” she said.
Lu Yao, who had to go to work in the Wangfujing area in Beijing, wore a face mask when he was at work. “It is a tragedy(悲剧), with Friday in storm and Saturday in sand,” he said, adding his 4-year-old son has been coughing since early this month.

The story is in a Chinese textbook for primary school students by People’s Education Press(人民教育出版社). Perhaps many of you have read it before. But the publisher (出版社) recently said itwill cut out this story. That’s because many people think it’s not true. Many believe that the world’s first appendectomy was in 1886. But when Edison was 7, it was 1854.
The publisher also said it will not use some other stories. For example, there’s a story about the first US President George Washington. The story says young Washington cut down a cherry (樱桃) tree in the yard of his house. But in fact, there was no cherry tree in the area at that time
So what’s the problem? Experts (专家) say that some editors (编辑) care too much about the educational meaning of stories, without checking if the story is true first.

8 . Across much of the United States, a warming climate has caused the early arrival of spring. This year is no exception. In parts of the Southeast, spring has arrived weeks earlier than usual and may turn out to be the warmest spring on record.
Apple trees blossoms in March and an earlier start to picnic season may seem harmless and even welcome.
Rising temperatures in the springtime lead plants and animals to come alive. Across the United States and worldwide, climate has been changing over these years.
Records managed by the USA National Phenology Network and other organizations prove that spring has come earlier the long term.
Blueberries in Massachusetts have flowers three to four weeks earlier than in the mid-1800s. And over a recent 12-year period, over half of 48 bird species have been studied.
Warmer spring temperatures have also led bees, moths and butterflies to appear earlier than in recent years. Similarly, species like frogs and bears wake up from hibernation earlier in warm springs.

9 . If you are in Shanghai and want to throw away a cup of milk tea, be careful. You need to follow these steps: first, pour out any leftover into a wet waste bin; second, put the paper wrapper into a recyclable waste bin; third, throw the single-use cup into a dry waste bin.
Sound difficult and annoying? You'll have to get used to it. From July 1st on, people in Shanghai are required to sort their garbage according to strict rules.
Why should we sort our garbage? The answer lies in the increasing amount of waste we are producing. Chinese cities produce over 200 million tons of waste each year, according to China Economic Net. Most of this waste is buried in landfills, which may pollute the water and soil. Moreover, we are running out of space for new landfills.
In fact, more than half of our waste can be recycled. Recyclable garbage can be made into new materials. For example, wet garbage can be used to make gas, heat and many other kinds of useful things. But in order to recycle garbage efficiently, we need to sort our garbage.
Can't garbage-processing companies do the sorting job focus? They can. But that requires a lot of work and costs lots of money. Things will become much easier if each of us can sort our own garbage. Besides, the annoying task of sorting might encourage people to produce less waste. Do you still want to buy that milk tea?

10 . Why is clean water important to developing countries? A recent report shows that about 80 percent of diseases in developing countries are caused by poor water and low sanitation(卫生)conditions. In those countries, women and girls spend several hours collecting water, but often polluted, far away from their families. The polluted water more or less influences their health. In this case, there is an urgent(迫切的)need for people in developing countries to have access to(有机会或权利使用)clean water to improve their health.

That evening, she told her father, “You shouldn’t eat with me unless you clean your hands.” Her father was very angry and shouted at her, “It’s not up to you to tell me what to do!” Stunned(目瞪口呆的), Hadjara sat in silence. But she knew she was right. In protest, Hadjara refused to eat dinner that night. After her father questioned Hadjara’s head teacher, he understood the importance of hand-washing and his daughter’s intentions(目的). The girl really wanted her family to live longer and healthier lives.
