1 . 短文改错

There are a lot of unforgettable thing in our life. The most unforgettable one for me is the speech competition holding last year. When my English teacher told me that I had chosen to take part in the speech competition, I devoted me to the preparation. I was determined to win the first prize. I was such nervous when I stood on the stage that I forgot everything. Not until I caught a sight of my teacher did I calm down. Finally, I do a good job. When I heard I got the first prize, my heart was filled in joy and tears rolled down. Through this speech competition, I understand that it is confidence which makes people successfully.

2 . 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Tony and I were in our school basketball team, the Lions. We loved basketball and were both huge fans of the NBA. When we weren’t playing on the court, we were watching a game on TV. My favourite player was LeBron James while Tony’s was Tyrone Bogues.

Bogues was only 1.6 metrest all, which made him the shortest player ever in the NBA. Guess what? Tony was only 1.6metrest all, too! Tony knew that being shorter than other players meant that he had to practise more. During all those hours of doing jump shots on his own, he used Bogues as his inspiration. Tony once said, “If Bogues could make it, why not me?”

But our coach was not so sure. Tony had to tryout many times just for making the team. He was still usually on the bench(场边休息区), being just a replacement. Everyone knew Tony had real skills, and was someone who worked really hard and had a strong desire to play for the team. However, Tony didn’t get a chance.

This week, the Lions were playing our main competitors, the Bears, a team whose record this season had been perfect. They hadn’t lost a single game.

The last quarter began, and my team was behind by 10 points. Suddenly, a player and I crashed into each other. Pain raced through my body. My knee hurt badly. “I don’t think I can play anymore, coach,” I said quietly as the doctor put an icepack on my knee.

“No way,” the coach replied sharply. “We’ve got no more players!”

文章大意:这是一篇记叙文。文章介绍了作者从马拉松比赛最后一位参赛者身上获得启发的故事。

4 . The annual marathon in my town occurred as scheduled. My job was to follow behind the runners in an ambulance in case any of them needed medical attention. As the athletes began to pace themselves, the front runners started to disappear. It was then that my eyes were drawn to the woman in blue running shorts and a baggy white T-shirt.

I knew we were already watching our “last runner”. Her feet turned in, yet her left knee was turned out. Her legs were so crippled and bent that it seemed impossible for her to walk, let alone run a marathon.

The driver and I watched in silence as she slowly moved forward. We would move forward a little bit, then stop and wait for her to gain some distance. Then we’ d slowly move forward a little bit more. As I watched her struggle to put one foot in front of the other, I found myself expecting her and urging her forward. I wanted her to stop, and at the same time, I hoped that she wouldn’t.

Finally she was the only runner left in sight. I sat on the edge of my seat and watched with respect and amazement as she pushed forward with strong determination through the last miles. When the finish line came into sight, the cheering crowds had long gone home. Yet she didn’t give up and crossed the line.

I don’t know this woman’s name, but that day she became a part of my life — a part I often depend on. For her, it wasn’t about beating the other runners or winning a prize. It was about finishing what she had set out to do. When I think things are too difficult or I get those “I-just-can’t-do-it,” I think of the last runner. Then I realize how easy the task before me really is.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。作者介绍了现在很流行的匹克球特殊的起源——因为一个孩子在一个夏日里感到无聊而诞生。

5 . Teenagers around the world are familiar with the great pain of boredom. And every parent is familiar with the sounds of groaning (咕哝的) kids, sulking (生闷气) in their room or pacing aimlessly around the house. But sometimes, it’s this very sense of boredom that can inspire creativity and create fast-growing trends.

This is true for pickleball (匹克球), now a popular sport in the West. According to the Mental Floss website, the sport was invented in the summer of 1965. At that time, Frank Pritchard, 13, had nothing to do in his family’s summer home in Washington, US. After complaining loudly, his father, Joel, suggested he make up a game. When Frank replied “Why don’t you?” his father gladly took up the challenge. Thus, pickleball was born.

Certain parts of tennis, badminton and ping-pong can be seen from pickleball. It’s a bat game played on a badminton-sized court with what looks like a wiffle ball (威浮球) over a low net. Only the serving team can score points, and all serves must be made with an underhand stroke (击球).

The popularity of pickleball has grown steadily over the last decade. According to Mental Floss, the number of pickleball courts has grown by an estimated 385 percent worldwide since 2010. One reason for its popularity is that it’s “a sport for everyone”. Anyone can play pickleball because it’s relatively easy to pick up. There are simple rules, and all people need is a couple of bats and a ball, which is affordable and accessible to all. Plus, pickleball is a sport centered around fun and friendship. The game lasts as short as 15 minutes, which means less running and stress for players.

Pritchard said that the game’s rapid rise in popularity was amazing, especially considering that a bad-tempered kid “inspired a sports craze by making a stink (吵闹) about being bored one afternoon 56 years ago”.

1. What do we know about pickleball, according to the passage?
A.It was invented accidentally by a young boy.
B.It is a game suitable for family gatherings.
C.It combines elements from several ball games.
D.The game’s judges come from a serving team.
2. What does Paragraph 4 mainly talk about?
A.Why pickleball has become so well received.
B.What equipment pickleball players need.
C.How significant pickleball is to the world.
D.What rules must be obeyed in pickleball.
3. What did Pritchard think of the popularity of pickleball?
A.Unexpected.B.Reasonable.C.Natural.D.Awkward.
4. Why does the author write the passage?
A.To advise us to join in sports games.
B.To teach us how to play pickleball.
C.To tell us the birth of a sports game.
D.To motivate us to follow new trends.

8 . 阅读下面的材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Nila sat alone on the bus. Her older sister, Lexi, was one seat ahead, acting as if this was the best day ever. But for Nila, it was the worst. It was the last day of swimming lessons. Test Day.

“If I pass my test, I can sign up for Junior Lifeguarding over the summer,” Nila heard Lexi telling her friend Jess. “You’re the best swimmer in the class,” Jess said. “There’s just no way you wouldn’t pass.” Maybe she could talk to Lexi about the test, who passed Level 4 several summers ago.

“I thought sisters were supposed to help each other actively,” Nila whispered to the window. An hour later, she held the edge of the pool, shaking. “For the last part of the test, you’ll all be swimming the width of the pool,” the instructor, Nate, told the class. “Can we swim in the shallow end?” Nila asked. “Nope,” Nate said cheerfully. “To pass Level 4, it has to be the deep end.”

Nila was nervous. She didn’t know if she could swim all the way across without touching the bottom. “I’ll be watching from the other side,” Nate said. “Ready?” No! Nila thought. But Nate put the whistle to his lips and blew. Nila took a deep breath and pushed off. Lexi moved up and down, feeling light. She completed smoothly and passed Level 7! A kid from her class bumped into her, but she just smiled at him. She liked everyone right now. Nila, too–even though she’d been such a pest earlier. Where was she, anyway?

After a minute, Lexi spotted her sister crossing the pool. Nila was way behind the others. As Nila neared the middle of the pool, she stopped. “Keep going,” Lexi called. “You can do it!” When Nila found out her position, her heart sank. Only halfway across! Some kids in her class were already at the wall, playing and talking. Nate was bending over to talk to one of the kids. He didn’t see her. Better keep going, she thought. But she was tired. Lexi kept her eyes on her sister’s slow progress.

1.续写词数应为150左右;

As Lexi watched, Nila’s head dipped briefly underwater before it resurfaced.
