We three were running down the path, shouting and laughing when our dog Rubby suddenly stopped in the distance. He turned around and eyed us, with his tail swinging up and down.
My little brother Toby immediately sped up and rushed to where Rubby was. He bent down. picked up something and ran back to us.
It was a bunch of keys. We gathered in a circle, examining the keys one by one. hoping to find some useful information about its owner. There were 3 keys — a house key, a mail key and a car key and a unique key fob (吊坠) very likely designed specially.
“Gosh, the owner might be in great trouble,” my sister sighed. She was right. We once lost our keys. Although we had an extra house key, it took our parents quite a long time to get a new mail key. let alone there was a car key.
Who might have lost them?
Alter many wild guesses, we finally drew a conclusion. It might belong to someone in our neighborhood as only our neighbors wandered into the woods for a walk. But it was still impossible to figure out who it was. We had a very big neighborhood.
“The owner might come back to look for them,” Toby reminded.
So we decided to stay where we were, keeping a watchful eye on all passers-by. Our little dog ran in circles of excitement since we stayed so long in the wild. We remained in the woods for two hours, asking everyone we came across whether they lost their keys, but in vain.
It seemed we had to give up. But my sister wouldn’t, saying that she just couldn’t stop picturing the owner brushing aside tall grasses hoping to find the lost keys. “How anxious and upset the owner would be!”
I took a look at the bunch of keys again and quite by accident, found the key fob had the alarm button. “Look! If we press the alarm button, close enough of course, we can set off the owner’s car alarm.”
“That’s brilliant.”

6 . Leonardo DiCaprio cares about climate change and has made environmental protection his life’s work. Besides leading his own environmental organization, the film star sits on the board of several other organizations, and his efforts have been celebrated by the United Nations.
But while many Hollywood stars are environmentally aware(意识到的)off screen, a new study shows the movie industry isn’t doing nearly enough on screen to keep climate change in everyday conversation. Researchers studied 37,453 scripts (剧本), looking for 36 climate keywords like “climate change”. They found only about 2.8% had any mention of the keywords. However, the word “dog” was mentioned 13 times more than all 36 climate words.
The study was published with a guidebook, Good Energy, to help screenwriters to focus more on climate change in movies and TV shows. The book was written after discussion with over 100 screenwriters and producers, as well as climate experts. Information about climate has an important part in the book, along with suggestions on how to shape characters and offer climate solutions on screen, Katherine Oliver, who helped with the print of the book, said, “Our goal should be to bridge the gap between the world we live in and the modern world we see on TV.”
Salire(讽刺)is used in Don’t Look Up , which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in a story satirizing the worlds cold reaction to climate change. Writer-director Adam McKay was among those who joined the discussion about the book. “We’ve seen how the film has created more conversation to call on people to look up,” McKay said.
Supporters of the book call this just the start and say it’s up to Hollywood to tailor scripts so that they can mirror the terrible situation the world is facing in real life. If we’re doing a scene(场景)in a supermarket, let there be people refusing to use plastic bags. Or if we’re doing scenes where we can be modeling healthy eating, then let’s have a system that can offer clean water.

7 . Posture(姿势)plays an important part in health. Long-time poor posture can lead to pain and discomfort. It has also been shown that poor posture can increase the risk of disease. Solutions are needed to help people, especially students and office workers, change their posture to prevent these problems and improve their health. As a result, researchers have developed a smart fabric(织物).
People often sit in various poor postures in their daily life. This could be reduced if people were able to observe their real-time sitting posture by wearing the smart fabric. With the sitting position monitoring (监测),users can watch their posture on the screen and make necessary changes.
The fabric was developed using TENGS, which can use movement of the wearer to collect the energy to power the posture monitoring sensor(传感器). The data collected by the sensors can provide immediate advice, warning the wearer when they need to change their posture. The fabric stretches easily and is washable and breathable. These factors are important for how people use the smart fabric, affecting the comfort of the wearable sensors and how well the fabric works.
In addition to the comfort of the fabric, another important aspect is the effectiveness of the posture monitoring. The sensors are fixed into the fabric in positions along the spines(脊椎), which can help collect data on the most common poor positions. The data is then sent to a machine, which processes key information telling how the wearer is sitting, classifying their sitting position, and monitoring how they correct their posture. This system is able to correctly recognizing the wearer’s posture most of the time.
With all these features, this monitoring clothing will help people avoid pain, discomfort, and long-term health problems. And it is believed this clothing will offer a reliable healthcare solution for long-term monitoring.
1. Why is the smart fabric developed?A.To treat some spine diseases. |

8 . Surrounded by a charming poplar forest in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a woman dressed in silk, dances under falling golden poplar leaves, looking like a “fairy” from myth(神话). This is a scene from a video that has caught the attention of Chinese netizens who have seen it as one of the most beautiful tourism promotions on social media.

Reheman recalled that the idea to introduce Xayar county’s plentiful tourism resources through short videos was inspired by another official in Zhaosu county in Xinjiang whose short video of him riding a horse in the snow successfully helped to promote local tourism.
Reheman said shooting the videos was not easy. Thinking that having her ride a camel would be a good fit for a desert tourism promotion, she decided to challenge herself by riding the tall animal even though she was afraid of falling off. While promoting a scenic(风景优美) highway near the poplar forest, Reheman spent two days learning to ride a motorcycle.
