1 . NLB Mobile app — a library in your pocket
The National Library Board (NLB) Mobile app is your personal library, anywhere. anytime. By signing in, you will be able to enjoy the full suite of services available to library members such as borrowing items and reading emagazines and enewspapers. But even if you don’t sign in, you can still:
●Search the library catalogue (目录) and share the title
●Locate nearby libraries based on your current location
●View highlights of library happenings
What do I need to sign in?
You will need a myLibrary ID. If you do not have it, you may create one online or using the app’s login page — tap on the+ button on the top right of the app’s screen.
What if I forget my myLibrary ID or password?
You can retrieve (恢复) your myLibrary ID and password:
●Online with your Singpass or NRIC/FIN number. Once you have signed in, the system will automatically detect if you have a myLibrary ID and display it. It will also let you reset your password if you have forgotten it.
●Via the NLB Mobile app, with your Singpass or NRIC/FIN number. Tap on the+ button on the top right of the app’s screen, then tap on “Forgot your myLibrary ID or password”.
When I try to log in, the app says “Profile already exists”. What do I do?
We are sorry that you are encountering this problem! Here are the steps.
●Go to your phone’s Settings menu.
●Select “Apps” or “Application manager” or “Applications”.
●Tap on“NLB Mobile”.
●Tap on “Storage”.
●Select “Clear Data”.
●Select “Clear Cache”
●Try signing in again. It should work this time. If not, please take a screenshot of the error message and email it to enquiry@nlb.gov.sg.

2 . Paisley Museum and Art Galleries being repaired, Paisley Art Institute will be using alternative venue of the Glasgow Art Club for the annual exhibition. Due to space restrictions, applications for entries are for members only. The exhibition will run from 28 December, 2023 to 3 February, 2024. Further details on hand-in are below.
WALL-BASED WORKS
The maximum height or width of wall-based works should be 5 feet. Because this venue is not as large as our home venue, some larger works may not be hung. Works should be suitably presented for the exhibition, no clips or metal frames. All works framed or unframed should be strong enough to hang.
SMALL WORKS
Only small works under 16×16 inches (total size framed or unframed) must be strung but please cover rings to avoid damaging other works.
SCULPTURE WORKS
The Glasgow Art Club is restricted from displaying free-standing sculptures as the venue is also used for dinners and entertainment.
Sculptural works must be of the scale that will not create a health and safety issue when displayed on a plinth (底座).
We do have a few plinths but if sculptors can supply their own plinth, this would be to their advantage.

3 . British Museum
Founded in 1753, the British Museum has a collection covering two million years of history. Showing human knowledge in all forms, it is the world’s first public museum of its kind and attracts more than six million visitors each year.
With so much to discover, you could spend a week walking around the British Museum and not see it all! But you can book a two-hour guided tour to see the highlights or make a day of it by stopping off at some of the cafes and restaurants. You can also pick up gifts, books and more at the ground floor Great Court Shop.
How to get there
·The British Museum is close to four London Tube stations, Holborn, Tottenham Court Road, Russell Square and Goodge Street all within eight minutes’ walk.
·Various bus routes also run close to the museum, with route 14 stopping directly outside. Two in three visitors prefer buses.
There are Santander Cycles docking stations within two minutes’walk. You can also use your own bike.
·The British Museum is in Bloomsbury, in central London. It’s a short walk from Covent Garden,Fitzrovia and Euston.
How much to pay
·Entrance to the museum is free, but a pre-booked timed ticket is needed for guaranteed entry. Keyexhibitions and some events usually require a fee.
·A donation of £ 5 is recommended.

4 . Road Trip Apps
RoadWarrior
Ever wonder how delivery drivers manage to hit so many different places in a relatively short amount of time? It’s because they’re using an app like RoadWarrior to plan their routes (路线) to be as good as possible. However, while many other route planning apps only take things like traffic into account, RoadWarrior includes lots of other time-wasting details.
GasBuddy
Gas prices are high at present, so travelers are naturally focused on finding the lowest rates whenever possible. GasBuddy is one of the most popular apps for finding affordable gas, especially on long road trips. Like many apps, there is a free version (版本), as well as a paid version with $10 per year for added features.
RoadTrippers
For people who aren’t totally focused on getting from point A to point B in the fastest time possible, the RoadTrippers app is a must-have. Users can plan their trip from start to finish with as many as 150 stops for them to choose from along the way, which costs $29.99 per year. It won’t let you miss the famous scenic spots. It tells fuel costs, allows for drivers to plan friendly routes to their particular vehicles and lets the users cooperate (合作) with friends who are also on the road.
HotelTonight
Travelers sometimes don’t know exactly where they’re going to be at the end of the day, so they can’t book the hotels ahead of time. Fortunately, there are apps designed to help travelers get cheap last-minute hotel deals. One of the best is HotelTonight, which allows the users to search for the hotels available tonight in a given area at a low price, and it includes additional discounts.

Happy Hour Thursday is the place to be! Meet your friends at the MFAH for the best night of the week. Explore the campus, visit the galleries(画廊), and get a drink at the public house (cash only).
General admission is free on Thursday, and the Museum is open late.
Art Bites I American Painting and Sculpture

A little art can go a long way! Visit the galleries and enjoy the art. The focus of this Art Bite tour is on American painting and sculpture. Art Bite tours are 30 minutes long and are part of the Happy Hour Thursday festivities at the Museum. This guided tour is included with general admission, which is free on Thursdays.
Glassell Studio School

The Glassell Studio School offers courses in art history and studio arts for adults ages 18 and older of all skill and experience levels. 10 . Art Exhibitions On Display Throughout Campus
Next Up Invitational V
On Display November 21 until November 26.
Location: Sikes Hall Showcase
“NextUp Invitational V” is an exhibition of works selected by the Clemson Curates Creative Inquiry team showing twenty-three “up and coming” undergraduate art students in the Department of Art Bachelor of Fine Arts. On view are works selected from over 230 submissions to the Foundations Review, which took place during the spring semester, and includes drawing, painting, and photography.
Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Exhibit
On display November 29 through December 7.
Location: Lee Gallery
This exhibition shows works by seniors in the studio disciplines of drawing, painting, and printmaking. The Lee Gallery exhibits the artworks of graduating students in the Department of Art academic program at the end of each semester. The students featured in the exhibit are honored with an Artist Talk which will take place December 3 from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. in the Lee Gallery.
Natural History/Critical Condition
On display December 1 until December 3.

The artists present a reflection on the natural environment that reveals a growing list of environmental concerns facing humanity. The exhibition points to ecological destruction. This exhibit questions the viewer’s capacity and willingness to address the changes taking place. It encourages the viewer to take action before conditions progress beyond our ability to take meaningful action.
Textiles (纺织品) Narratives

The Clemson Visual Arts welcomes back MFA alumna (女校友)T erry Jarrard-Dimond for a personal exhibition, “Textile Narratives.” The artworks in this exhibition show Dimond’s collection of compositions using hand-dyed, contemporary textiles. Dimond took part in South Carolina Arts Commission’s 50th Anniversary exhibition pogram and received Visual and Craft Fellowship award.
