One Day University was founded by Steven Schragis in 2006. He came up with the idea after he dropped his daughter off at college in upstate New York. The school had about a dozen professors giving short talks about a variety of subjects. All the parents had the same reaction: “I wish I were the one going to college!”

2 . Theater is a big part of what makes New York shine. This city is full of talent that even the youngest can appreciate, and at the best Broadway shows, everyone in your crew will be interested.
The Lion King (Ages 8 and up.)
There’s a reason Simba’s story continues to draw in crowds year after year: It’s an amazing production with amazing sets and a moving score. Seeing The Lion King live is something like a ceremony for New York kids. Unconvinced? Ask the 100 million+ audience members worldwide who’ve seen the performance.
Six (Ages 10 and up.)
On a concert stage, backed by an all-female band, the six wives of Tudor Dynasty Henry Ⅷ air their complaints in the form of modern pop. The queens sing their heads off, and the audience loses its mind. Some of the stories are pretty dark, but the girl-power dance moves will make older kids excited.
Wicked (Ages 8 and up.)
Based on novelist Gregory Maguire’s 1995 adult variation on L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Wicked shows what happened before the events in the children’s book. The musical addresses complex themes, such as standards of beauty and morality. While children five and up are permitted in the theater, little ones might be afraid of the flying monkeys.
Come from Away (Ages 10 and up.)
One of the more unlikely musicals on Broadway is an excellent choice for the family: Come from Away is the tense but humane story of an airport in Gander, Newfoundland, where 38 planes and more than 6,000 passengers were forced to land on September 11, 2001. It raises big topics, but in such a way that invites thoughtful discussion.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Minnesota offers several short classes on Chinese language and culture.

4 . Total Solar Eclipse 2023 Australia
One of nature’s most remarkable event — a total solar eclipse (日蚀) — will take place on the we stem edge of Australia on April 20th, 2023 and we have chosen the perfect way for you to enjoy this event: on a cruise (航游) at sea.
There have been only five total solar eclipse in Australia over the past century and this is the first hybrid eclipse in more than 1000 years. Unlike other cruises for this event, ours has the well-known astronomer Abigail Beall to accompany you. You will have the best possible view of the event as well as enjoying lectures and stargazing on land and at sea. Abigail will be on hand throughout, giving lectures on the history and science of eclipses, the black hole at the centre of the galaxy — along with providing many opportunities for guided stargazing. 8 . The local education department is looking to hire an additional two part-time employees to support its ongoing mobile library van project. The projected working hours shall be an average 23 hours per week spread out over 5 or 6 days from Tuesday to Sunday.
PAY RATES
Pay rates are competitive and are split into three pays bands: Weekdays 9 a.m. — 6 p.m. paid at $5.50 per hour, weekdays 6 p.m. — 9 p.m. paid at $7.50 per hour, and work on weekends anytime 8:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m. will be paid at $10 per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications for the position are minimal in that there are no specific qualifications required. However, regarding experience, previous library experience is preferred but not absolutely necessary. What is considered to be beneficial for the applicant is having good people skills and a strong desire to help people. A good knowledge of software programs and computers is required, so this position would favor an applicant with excellent computer skill. A valid driving license is essential.
BENEFITS
The employee will also be eligible for certain other benefits, such as full health insurance, whilst pension contributions and paid annual leave will be calculated on a prorata basis. Free access to all library materials both physical and digital will be offered to the employee with certain limits depending on customer demand.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS&NOTIFICATIONS
Firstly and most importantly is that the employee must be completely flexible to work any shifts as needed, and that work schedules will be planned monthly in advance. On Mondays the mobile library van is closed for regular maintenance and cleaning. The employee will never be asked to work over 30 hours per week unless agreed upon in advance with the employee.

The Course Experience
