My grandmother and mother are both well-known piano players. When I was 3 years old, I developed to an interest in musical instruments, especial in piano. Yesterday afternoon, an English Speech contest is held in our lecture hall. Hundreds of teachers and students were invited for a contest. It began at 2 p. m. and lasted about two and a half hours. The performer did very well in their speeches. My favorite one was about friendship. It was interested and attractive. The speaker was real skillful. Her pronunciation was good but she also used some funny stories to make her points. It was clear that she had been made good preparations for the contest. She won first prize in the end. After watched the contest, I believed what success always comes from hard work.

When I was a little boy, I see a science fiction film. It was about the future world, in that the way people lived was so astonished. What made I especially surprised was that they could drive cars in the sky! Since now, I have been curious the future world. Just about 100 years ago, flying in the sky seemed impossible, but now we can travel around a world by plane. With the latest achieve in technology, we can deal with most of our problem. Last Sunday, I walked my dog, Zuma, in a small square near my home, when there was a little blond-haired boy. She looked kind of lonely and was kicking a football by himself. For my surprise, Zuma, who had been afraid of other child before, was drawn to the little boy. So, I would asked permission for us to watch his football practice. He was shyly but said OK. Later, Zuma got so exciting watching him kick the football that he ran up to the boy. We are extremely happy to cheer on little boy. And I felt he had a good time with us, either.

I’ve been passionate about being a competitively swimmer ever since that I was a small child. My dad used to take me to the local swimming pool every Saturday’s for swimming lessons. While the other kids was moving around noisily in the water, I used every second of that time to practice my strokes (泳姿). Soon, I started entering race, and even though I didn’t win them all, I kept improve my time. By time I was 14, I was the faster swimmer at my school. Now my burning ambition is to swim to my country. With practice and determination. I believe I can made great progress as a swimmer beyond my wildest dreams.

I went to England for a trip. I arrived in London at the 9th , December. But I didn’t know the way to your hotel. So I asked a man. I talked in English very careful and clearly. But the man couldn’t understand me. I repeated my question several time and at the last he understood. He answer me but he spoke either slowly nor clearly. I could not understand his words. Being a good listener can not only help someone solve much of life’s problems but also improves his way of dealing with matters. There was a time while misunderstanding occurred to between my friend and me, and we quarreled terribly at that time. For the sake of our friendship, I took great courage to make an explanation to him. But as a result, the more I explained, the angry he seemed. I was in great despair. Quarreling with him again one day, I suddenly realized that I should be good listener so that he could tell me how was in his mind. Strange enough, it does work. Misunderstanding between us was removing and we became good friends again .
