Since 1996, 770 key cultural sites under state protection have been listed by the Chinese government and the number of them are expected to reach 2, 200 in 2022. In the 1990s, the government spent a lot of money protect cultural sites, what reached 700 million yuan for about 1,000, projects. So far, the Chinese government has been listed more than 560 national famous cultural cities under key protection. To our delighted, the protection of the ancient buildings as well the traditional cultures is included. On addition, as a large traditional agricultural country, China has many ancient village. However, the cultural experts are planning a large protection project than before.

Once I had to read a textbook which was so expensive for me to buy it. I couldn’t obtain it from the library and the only copy I could find was in a certain bookshop. So I go to the shop every afternoon and read a little of the book in a time. One day, therefore, I was disappointed to find the book missing from its usually place. I was about leave when the owner of the shop waved at me. Expecting to be told off, I went towards him. To his surprise, the owner pointed to the book placed in a corner.“I put it there in cases it should be bought, ”he said kindly, left me to continue my reading.

Last month, I finish reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms writing by Luo Guanzhong. It is a Chinese historical novel based upon the events what happened between the late Eastern Han Dynasty or the Three Kingdoms. It is praised as one of the Four Great Clas-sical Novels of Chinese literature. I’ve learned a lot of from the novel. I really like reading, which can broaden your horizon and make me learn knowledges. A good book is like a wise man, a teacher, a friend and a partner. I do advise chose a good book to read. If everyone does it regular, the history, culture and many other aspects will handed down from generation to generation.

One evening after supper, Mom or I went to our little vegetable garden, only to find quite a few cucumbers were destroyed. Dried leaf were left on the ground, making us to feel sad. Observing careful, we found some animal footprints here. We guessed that it must be a pet dog that had made the mess.

Several days later, to our great excite, the damaged vegetables begin to grow again. Some even had little cucumbers, which goes as the saying “Misfortune may be an actual good thing!”. This taught him a good lesson—we should treat a bad thing in positive way instead of turn angry.

It is the end of the year. Most housewife are busy with New Year shopping. One day, at the entrance of a supermarket, my mother and I notice an old man in worn clothes. He kept greet people with “Happy New Year”. On such cold winter afternoon, some people chose to ignore about him and walked away. Therefore, that didn’t let him down. He still did it active. My mother took a sadly look at him. After shopping, I found my mother carrying a new coat in his hand. She gave the coat to the man smilingly and said “Happy New Year”, what brought tears to his eyes.

Last Saturday, my parents and I paid visit to my grandparents by train. Though there was a large number of people in the crowded train, everyone help those who had lots of baggage and behaved politely. Along the way, we enjoyed beautifully views. At first, we saw one hill after another. Then what came into our eye were fields with green crops. Before a six-hour trip, we arrived at my grandparents’ house. Exhausted as I felt, but I was happy to see my grandparents, which I hadn’t seen for a long time. It’s really an excited trip because it was the first time I had taken so a long-distance train.

A Chinese Classics Reciting Contest will be hosted in my school. Know that you are really into Chinese culture, I’m writing to invite you to participate it.

The contest will be hold in the school lecture hall from 2:00 to 4:00 on the afternoon of April 15. All the competitors were required to read Chinese poems or essays within five minutes. Beside, the forms of the activity can be various, that involve reading or reciting on your own, in pairs or in groups. The prizes will go to the top five students. I’m sure it would be a great fun and beneficial for your language learning. Hope them can join us.

Daisy is a wrestling lover. One day, she passed by a gym with a sign say “Wrestling Tournament”. Feeling highly excitedly, she signed up for them immediately. She was the only girl on a name list of the competition, which makes her a little nervous at first. Her first opponent, a strong boy, looked down her. However, with the whistle blowing, Daisy hit him hardly and fast. The boy was on his back in ten second. Then, for the other two boys, she was beat them quickly without much effort. With the audience applauding, she achieved which the boys thought impossible.

I had never played chess before. Last term, I get fascinated by chess, which is a extremely popular game. When watching my classmates play, they soon learned several basic rule. Thus, I thought playing chess was very easily. But during chess matches, I found myself defeat quickly after few steps. It made me aware the fact that to win, one must think carefully. With this in mind, I further practiced play chess. A few weeks later, I was made improvement in my chess skills. Now chess is my favorite hobby, what helps sharpen my mind.
