My list of favorite books are long. I read a lot and I just keep finding new favorites. In my family, we often talk about the books we are reading and passing around our favorites. It benefits a whole family.

I discovered how share favorite books can help strength a friendship long ago. When I was a kid, my friend Liz became very sicker and was going to miss a lot of school. I fill a big bag with some of my favorite books for her read. She never forgot that. Today, she lives thousand of miles away from me, but she sometimes e-mails with me about the books she is reading.

Today, when I walked to home after school, I found the sunset was very beautifully. I stopped at the park and sit on a bench to appreciate the scenery. There was so many people who had a walk at the park, most of whom were old couples. There was a special couple walk hand in hand, who caught my attention. The old woman couldn’t walk well so there was something wrong with her right legs. The old man took care of them carefully. They set good example to the young couples, showing that true love is. Against the sunset, they made up a beautiful scene.

When I began to learn German, it was struggle. The words feel strange on my tongue and the grammars wouldn’t stay in my head. I wanted to give up, but my mum told myself learning a language wasn’t just for my future. It was exercise for my brain. The more I learned a language, so the more my brain would grow. I remember that day when I suddenly felt like German was really no long a foreign language. I had finally come to a place where I could think in this foreign language but see the world from a differently point of view. I felt as if I had reached the goal I had been fighting with. I finally understood why my mum has encouraged me not to give up.

As a little child, I liked to stay at my grandparents’ home during the summer holiday. That impressed me was helping them with their housework and farm work. Beside, I usually did my homework for only an hour in the evening. I spent most of my time played with the kids in the neighborhood. We go fishing together and explored the nearby forest several time. I also taught them to learn speaking English. We even used English to communicate each other. By the end of the holiday, they could have a simply conversation in English. For this, their parents came to thank me. In a brief, in our childhood, we really felt relaxed and enjoyed us.

When my cousin graduated from college three years ago, he offered a high-paid job in the city. Considering his passion for gardening, he quit a job and returned to his hometown, where lies in the east of Henan Province.

Despite his parents’ disapproval, but my cousin determined to set up a modern farm to grow organic fruits and vegetable. With loads of difficulties overcoming, up to now, his efforts had paid off. Big although the farm is, it is watered by an automatically irrigation system. Besides, the products are mainly picked by several robots. Fresh and tasty, it sell well all the year round, making the farm a model to follow.

Nowadays, people argue a lot about if or not to celebrate Western festivals, as Western festivals are becoming more and more popular in China, especial among young people. They said they celebrate Western festivals because they are exciting than Chinese festivals. In my opinion, Western festivals are basing on the cultural traditions of the Western country, and I see no reason why we should celebrate their festivals. We are Chinese, and we mustn’t forget our cultural roots. In fact, Chinese cultural traditions are really great, but we should take pride in it. On a word, I am prefer Chinese festivals.

My family has a tradition of pick pear flowers for food every spring. This year, as usually, together with my parents, I go back to my hometown. We visited their grandparents and picked pear flowers as well. It was best time when pear flowers were in full bloom. That impressed us most was the sweet smell of the flowers in the air. As the trees were tall, so my grandfather and father used a long pole to getting the flowers down from the trees. My mother and I picked them off from the ground. At noon, my grandmother fried cookie for us, which were made of pear flowers mixed with flour and eggs.

The universal longing for brightness and warm gave birth to thousands of lights. They break the darkness and carry people’s hopes and dreams on specially days. China’s Lantern Festival is one such day, celebrating through light shows and other celebrations. It is on 15th day of the first month of the lunar year. As Chinese people’s living standards keep rise, they have a stronger need for entertainment during festivals. Making lanterns have become a trend again, popular among both children and adults. Many hanfu lovers also brought lanterns, small and animal-shaped, as a decoration while wearing your costumes. There are much lovely lanterns for people of all ages to be light up the festival.
