My grandmother and mother are both well-known piano players. When I was 3 years old, I developed to an interest in musical instruments, especial in piano. The home environment has always inspired me to keeping practicing. Since I could remember, I’ve been playing piano even for about eight hours a day. I am a shy and quiet girl, because the instrument is a unique means for me to express me feelings. I have participated in various musical event at home and abroad. Combine erhu with contemporary music, I hope to make more people know this tradition instrument. It is encouraging that what I have done contribute to their better understanding of Chinese culture.

Last week, I take part in the Cultural Exchange Week but enjoyed myself in England. I visited the city museum and several place of interest, which made me have better understanding of the English society, culture and history.
What’s more, I was luckily enough to meet my pen friend Tom there. I stayed at his home. And I’ll never forget the days when we spent together. When I left England, he offered to me a dictionary as a gift. It’s of great help for me to learning English. I will make full use of them and learn English well.

Yesterday afternoon, an English Speech contest is held in our lecture hall. Hundreds of teachers and students were invited for a contest. It began at 2 p. m. and lasted about two and a half hours. The performer did very well in their speeches. My favorite one was about friendship. It was interested and attractive. The speaker was real skillful. Her pronunciation was good but she also used some funny stories to make her points. It was clear that she had been made good preparations for the contest. She won first prize in the end. After watched the contest, I believed what success always comes from hard work.

When I was a little boy, I see a science fiction film. It was about the future world, in that the way people lived was so astonished. What made I especially surprised was that they could drive cars in the sky! Since now, I have been curious the future world. What a long winter vacation! I stayed at home done nothing except homework every day as a robot. Realizing I might have behaved rude when receiving your gift at my birthday party, I’m writing to say sorry. I’m grateful to have received such nice a present. The moment we entered the Baihua Park last Sunday, Tom and I attracted by its beautiful scenery, and we walked along the beautiful lake happy. Soon, we noticed a elderly man practicing calligraphy on the ground, in a bucket of water aside. Hold a big writing brush in his hand he wrote some beautiful Chinese characters. We as well as other tourist couldn’t help but to admire his skills. To our amaze, the elderly man invited Tom to have a try. With her help Tom completed his first calligraphy task, the two Chinese characters for “China”, quite successfully. Before we left, we take a photo together to memorize this valuable experience.

A professor gave a balloon to every student, which had to fill it, write their own name on it and threw it in the hallway. The professor then mixed all the balloon. The students were giving 5 minutes to get back their own balloon. Despite a busy search for, no one found their own balloon.
At that point the professor told the students to take first balloon that they found and hand them to the person whose name was written on it. Within 5 minutes everyone had their own balloon.
