This afternoon, our handcraft club held a lanternmaking activity, which a famous folk artist invited to teach us how to make lanterns by hand. He first told us the history and origin of lanterns, and the various materials formed them. After that, he showed us the basic step and skills of lantern making. Then came the time for me to have a try. With the guidance of the artist, all of us finished our works successful.
Through this activity, not only had I improved my handcraft skills, but I have also deepened my understanding of the symbolic meanings of lanterns. I’ve come to realize that our Chinese lantern figures are so popular the worldwide.

Words fail to convey my excitement when I know that you show great interest to the Sunshine Sports in our school. I can’t wait to share with you the related informations.
The Sunshine Sports had enjoyed great popularity among us students since we put it into practice last term. It encourages us go out of the classroom and get close to the nature. Various activities are included, such as basketball, football, table tennis, running, cycling and so on. Thanks to the Sunshine Sports, we students can enjoy amazed breaks between classes. We have exercised much more than before and therefore we’re both mentally and physically stronger and healthy, what contributes a lot to our academic performances. That’s because it is so popular.

Should We Help Strangers?
Recently our class had a discussion about whether we should help strangers. Different students have different opinions.

Our school arranges different kind of social practice every year. That impressed me most was the one I joined last year. One Sunday, we were asking to gather at People’s Park. Our tasks were to help clean the garbage and advise people not to litter. We begin to pick up the rubbish the moment when we arrived. Soon I found more and more people came to help. Beside, almost all the people followed our advice after we talked to them. Seen the cleaner park, we smiled. Protecting our environment is everyone responsibility and only when we all really take action and start small can we eventual achieve our goal.
