When you were a little kid, your parents took care of your health matters like scheduling your doctors' appointments (约见) and making sure you took your medicine.    1    You may be worried about things like weight, stress, and even suicidal(自杀的)thoughts. It's important to find someone who is both knowledgeable and dependable to get help. That's where your doctor can help.

It's perfectly normal to feel nervous when talking with your doctor about these personal and private things. You should be able to tell your doctor about everything.    2     So here are tips for you to make it easier:

Your doctor has seen it before. Most doctors have cared for hundreds or even thousands of patients.    3     No matter how troubling something might be to you, it probably won't surprise your doctor.

Your doctor is there to help, not judge(批评)or punish you.Your doctor is interested in keeping you healthy, not judging you for something you have or haven't done.     4    If you think your doctor makes you uncomfortable, turn to another doctor.

5    A doctor can't help you unless you tell the whole story. Even if you're uncomfortable, being open and honest will only do good to you. Most doctors realize that people can feel uncomfortable about raising personal problems, and they try to be good listeners.

A.But that's easier said than done.
B.So who can you talk to about your worries?
C.It's your job to talk openly about your worries.
D.So they've heard and seen just about everything before.

【推荐1】For the last couple of weeks, I had been stuck in front of my computer working on a project that was very important to me. My every waking hour was consumed by the project and although I imagined that I would feel happy after completing parts of the project, I was confused to find that instead, I was feeling rather depressed.   I tried a range of methods to help cheer myself up.   I had a relaxing bath, cooked a delicious meal to enjoy with my family and even watched a lighthearted movie, but to_no_avail. It was only when I turned to meditation (沉思) for a solution that the answer came to me: turn to nature!

The very next day, I grabbed my camera and a bottle of water and set off to spend a few hours walking in a nature reserve, even though it was pouring with rain. Within a couple of minutes I felt alive again. To be honest, I felt like a young school girl again and had to stop myself from hopping along the path singing Im singing in the rain, a song I used to sing when I was a child. I think as adults we often try too hard to control our inner children and as a result we restrain our own spirits, which only leads to depression and stress.

Interestingly, it has been shown that people who spend 40 minutes walking in a nature reserve have a drop in their blood pressure levels, but this does not happen when they spend a similar amount of time walking in a busy city centre.

If you feel a little low in spirits and know that you have spent too much time indoors, relax completely, remove your shoes and let your inner child come out and play.

【推荐2】Choosing a musical instrument

Many people would like to learn how to play a musical instrument, but they are put off by one big problem: what to play?     1    .

What kind of music do you like?

Many instruments are multi-purpose, but some are more suited to certain types of music. Although there is some classical performance for the saxophone, for example, people associate it more with jazz, and it is not a permanent feature of many orchestras.     2    , so consider this before you start.

Do you want to play with other people?

Think about your long-term future as a musician. If you want to play with other people, what sort of instrument would be most practical? If you want to play rock music, there will always be a demand for bass players or drummers, and if you fancy being part of an orchestra, the bassoon is a great bet to make sure you are always needed.

Where are you going to practise?

Many people live in flats and practising the drums, for example, will drive your neighbors crazy. Electric versions of instruments like the piano, drums, guitar and even violin give you the option of playing into the night using headphones, while your housemates sleep in peace.     3    .

How much money can you spend?

4    . A lot of instruments can be purchased in different price ranges, for example, guitars. But this doesn’t alter the fact that many, such as the piano, are always pretty expensive. If you can’t afford your chosen instrument, will you be able to borrow someone else’s or hire one?

    5    ?

If you’re small and don’t like lifting heavy objects, you won’t want to carry around a double bass. Apart from that, use your common sense, and don’t let your physical shortcomings put you off. Who says small skinny people can’t play the tuba? It’s true that some wind instruments require a lot of lung power but with the right coaching, everyone can develop the right technique.

If you are still not sure, find an experienced music teacher, who can give you some advice and push you in the right direction. If you find an instrument you love and that suits your needs, you’ll find the time spent choosing was well worth it. Good luck with making your choice!

A.This is quite a big factor
B.Are there any physical limitations
C.Here are some tips for you to follow
D.Does it matter if you are not strong enough
E.Here are a few questions to help you decide
F.Some instruments may lend themselves better than others to the music you like
G.Alternatively, you may need to consider going to a school or a community centre to practise

【推荐3】Suppose you’re in a rush, feeling tired, not paying attention to your screen, and you send an email that could get you in trouble.

Realisation will probably set in seconds after you’ve clicked “send”. You freeze in horror and burn with shame.

What to do? Here are four common email accidents, and how to handle.

Clicking “send” too soon

Don’t waste your time trying to find out if the receivers has read it yet. Write another email as swiftly as you can and send it with a brief explaining that this is the correct version and the previous version should be ignored.

Writing the wrong time

The sooner you notice, the better. Respond quickly and briefly, apologizing for your mistake. Keep the tone measured: don’t handle it too lightly, as people can be offered, especially if your error suggests a misunderstanding of their culture(I.e. incorrect ordering of Chinese names).

Clicking “reply all” unintentionally

You accidentally reveal(透露)to entire company what menu choices you would prefer at the staff Christmas dinner, or what holiday you’d like to take. In this instance, the best solution is to send a quick, light-hearted apology to explain your awkwardness. But it can quickly rise to something worse, when everyone starts hitting “reply all” to join in a long and unpleasant conversation. In this instance, step away from your keyboard to allow everyone to calm down.

Sending an offensive message to it’s subject

The most awkward email mistake is usually committed in anger. You write an unkind message about someone, intending to send it to a friend, but accidentally send it to the person you’re discussing. In that case, ask to speak in person as soon as possible and say sorry. Explain your frustrations calmly and sensibly—see it as an opportunity tic hear up any difficulties you may have with this person.

1. After realizing an email accident, you are likely to feel _______.
A.curiousB.tired
C.awfulD.funny
2. If you have written the wrong name in an email, it is best to ________.
A.apologise in a serious mannerB.tell the receiver to ignore the error
C.learn to write the name correctlyD.send a short notice to everyone
3. What should you do when an unpleasant conversation is started by your “reply all” email?
A.Try offering other choices.B.Avoid further involvement(参与).
C.Meet other staff members.D.Make a light-hearted apology.
4. What is the passage mainly about?
A.Defining email errors.B.Reducing email mistakes.
C.Handling email accidents.D.Improving email writing.
